Shucks. I know the earlier models didn't care about vin. So, LMM is vin sensitive?
IDK, just what I've found or been told..

Hopefully nothing else majorly is wrong, leaning pretty hard on picking up that BCM from Garrett. Rather be out 200.00 vs ~1000.00 with the dealer.

IDK if the clock spring is bad or not given all the stuff going through the BCM that doesn't work

Well.. left a battery connected last weekend after moving it around, filled the shop with burnt electrical wire smell. Didn't fully disconnect one of the batteries ground strap was pretty warm when I pulled it.
So finally pulled the trigger on a IR camera gun. Should help out in a lot of other areas as well.

Haven't ordered anything for the BCM yet

I’d wait until you trace that short also. Did you see any voltage on the ground?
That's the plan.. find the short.. hoping it will be screaming under the thermal scan.. supposed to hit 32° today. Guessing plastic starts smelling around 150-185°??‍♂️ should make it very obvious

I didn't check it, it was -5F at the time and the negative battery cable was hot shower warm to the touch.

Well this showed up, today about 2pm, had to help my uncle around the farm..
Just got to start playing with it and figuring it out this evening..
It's sensitive enough I can pick up my own body heat off reflective stuff.

I use those on boats to look for small shorts. LEDs are becoming an issue, bc they don’t pull enough amps to pop a breaker of fuse when they short. Had one smoldering and still hadn’t broken the 2 amp fuse.
