Yeah. Only option there is to drill a hole in the stat to allow coolant to pass, but that's not a good option either.

Are there water ports on the back of the intake that are just plugged?

This looks like an Air Gap diagram, may be similar enough though.

The big blocks don't have rear coolant boss like the small block do with aftermarket intakes.. the only other places already tapped are in the cylinder heads between 3/5 and 4/6 cylinders and those spots read hotter then at the thermostat housing

I'll just drain the coolant, drill and tap the cross over passage

Well it runs, ECM for some reason wants to run idle at 1000, vs 700.. have to do some double checking ...
the ECT doesn't track temp as well as the one in the coolant passage.. I'll move that later..
Been decent day, time to wrap up and go to bed lol
Make the wires less ugly later🤣

Saves on fuel when it's only 7cyl. Fingers crossed I went with a Howard's cam, their max certified line has a 5yr warranty

My stroke BBC in my wagon has a howards HR cam in it, it's been nice.
Downside is availability.
Also have a comp cams HR MK6 cam that's extremely close to the howards.
Unfortunately the square body has a MK4 block which is flat tappet..
Like to put this in, I'd need new push rods, retro lifters and timing chain cover for thrust button.

Hmm, yea I see the desire to pick one in stock. But to be honest I'd just order one, the grind I wanted was in stock for a 112lsa but I ordered a 108lsa, only took 5 or 6 weeks

Probably worded it wrong..
I have a NIB MK6 style HR cam and MK6 4.25" crank.
I have 2 MK6 blocks that need machine work, also need rods and pistons for the said 4.25 crank

That'll probably be winter project.

I'm not sure what's going on with the radiator in the LMM trans cooler is leaking externally and cool as well 🤦🏻‍♂️

I thought the consensus was we didnt trust all-aluminum radiators in these trucks? Or was that just in racing applications?

I asked the question and the general consensus is they all seem to leak at some point. I don't know if anyone has had this brand but all the other top names don't seem to hold up.

I had asked because I saw Fluidyne was selling an aluminum version for the D-max and I was curious if any of the ones on the market held up. Mishimoto has a lifetime warranty, but what they don't tell you upfront is that its $100 to ship a replacement.

I've had 2 stock ones fail.. one end tank crimps.. and this one which is leaking around the lower trans cooler fitting..

I'm worried if I tighten the cooler adapter fittings any further I'll strip the cooler bosses or crack the plastic end tank.

Isn't there supposed to be O rings in the fittings that do the sealing and not how tight you make it? I would think a thicker O ring would help without having to torque down too much

I've also successfully pried open the crimps, cleaned the gasket and reassembled with black silicone before to stop the leak

On the stock E-clip firings yes.. I'm already running aftermarket lines and -10 fittings
