Have Forged piston been proven reliable for a daily driver? What is a ballpark price for a set not coated and installed? Also what is the likely hood ti will trash your block if you crack a piston?
Ross and Arias sell for much less but require double the amount of piston to cylinder wall clearance over the Mahle.
So....looking at the cost of new stock pistons, rings, coating & cutting it seems that the money difference is close to the forged price.
im looking at resusing my stockers here in a couple months
plan on cleaning the soot and carbon off them and get then dyed for surface cracks.. before i have guy cut them to ~16:1.
if they fail im most likey will be putitng forgde in the engine...
if properly setup i can see fordge lasting in a DD setup
i was kindaly reminded you cant use ferious base checking stuff on none ferious metals DOH!
thanks guy
Dude, get a mac, it spell checks EVERYTHING! and it doesn't get AFU from porn....
No failures yet.
I'll be more comfortable recommending them after we have 20-30,000 miles in a daily driver/performance application.
