The gm8 are ugly big turbos so moving to something else might be ideal.

I saw a c10 with a LML and a t56 wonder what that shop did for flywheel. There must be a solid flywheel that exists for a duramax. I’ll search that later.

I saw these Rudy’s manifolds. Cheap and they look reversible. Would save a bunch of fab if they fit. I found an old post on here saying their up pipes are cheap, but maybe the manifolds would be fine for this application.

Any suggestions for manifolds are welcome. The tight space won’t really allow headers, maybe a log manifold. But if I’m gonna build a log why not just get a pair of these?

Southbend makes (or used to make) a single mass flywheel for the Duramax. I believe they make a clutch for the T56 and TR6060 used in the 4th and 5th gen Camaro. I bet they could make something custom for a swap.

Well I’ve been having a ton of fun getting the car making some good power and I have great news I have successfully cooked 5th gear. Probably shoulda left the torque limits on for 5th and 6th lol. When I lock the converter and hold it in 5th all it does is scream like a goat under any power, ooops.

No worries tho I have found a tr6060 and if everything goes well I will pick it up on Father’s Day weekend.

I’m pretty excited to get into this swap on my swap, Josh you mentioned south bend makes a flywheel, I’ll look into that. I wonder if a lbZ flywheel would work? Aren’t these somewhat balanced to the engine?

The flywheels are crank/damper specific. LB7/LLY are fairly close to LML but LBZ/LMM is a different counterweight. South Bend will make a LB7/LLY clutch setup, it's worth a call to them and see if they will do an LML counterweighted version.

I put in the circle d stage 4 and it has upgraded key hole clutches for 35R. I have smoked everything you can with a 6l80, I’m on my 4th one now. I have finally found someone who builds and tunes them. Don’t give up on it. Lol I can send you his contact info if you want.

I appreciate the offer, but I’ve been dreaming of a tr6060 in this thing for a while now so I’m gonna give it a go.

If it doesn’t work out my next move will be a 10L and getting in touch with powertrain swap solutions to see if it would be possible.

The 10L90 in stsnd alone is good to go.. Behind a 5.9l C in a seventies Pinto wagon if you so desire. If you can bolt it up, I'll hook ya up on the electronics.

Dimensions of the box, I have no idea. To me, it's reasonably sized, shorter than expected. But I've just been doing brain surgery, so I haven't really checked out the body too much.

It is missing any external sensors, and older stuff like a P/N, and R output wires. Still has a place to hook up a shifter cable, so we good.

That’s great. So do you have a solution for it to talk to any global A ecm? And what about older stuff before global A?

The pic above is a 2010 LS3 E38.

Most basically, I've mapped out exactly what's required in stock Global A format to shift happily and communicate to the other late model nodes. I can currently translate or reproduce all of the raw GMLAN data that it requires, and know what it's speaking.

Normally, I'd say it should be plugNplay to a 2014 lml, but GM added a few words to the normal conversations since then.. And they tagged some of those messages as "Required" in the OS stuff now.. Sets U0xxx codes if missing any data.

So I can make it talk to Holley or Motec if ya want, but the OS needs to be cleaned up so it doesn't require the EBCM or BCM data. Have a buddy wacking that outa the OS for us right now. Then just need something with wheels to try it in..

So are you affiliated with power train swap solutions at all?

Talking about mapping, I’ve got a A2L for e86b but can’t seem to get past the price of winols. Haven’t really wanted to get a cracked version either. I did have one friend take a look at the OS and found some clutch pedal parameters in the e86b.

I have my clutch pedal wired in currently and when I release it the engine won’t rev over 2000rpm. I’d sure like to go deeper and see if it would be possible to have an e86b ecm accept clutch, speed, neutral and reverse signals from a manual, or maybe I’m just dreaming.

Depends on what you mean by affiliated...

Last fall Sean called me up asking to modify my existing GMLAN marine gateway to do a single E38 to T87A build. I spent a couple months hacking it all out, and sent him a custom gateway to test with. He drove his truck and sent me some logs with my hardware and the 10L90. Then he just text messaged me saying he wasn't interested in doing anything with it, but would be sure to let me know if he decided to continue the development. All that work is logged here.

So now I'm just waiting for him to start sending me some checks... 🤑

I showed him how to do it using $100 in total hardware. Sot Not really thinking I want my name associated with his products. But my hardware and software IP is 100% basis of his product. That will be rectified..
