I figured heat might be an issue which I’m ok with experimenting with as I did some cooling upgrades and I live in the Midwest so it doesnt get to crazy hot all that often. As for stress, as in a lot of torque at a low rpm?
The heat he's talking about isn't ambient heat, its the heat generated by the truck running those RPM with that load. That is a lot of EGT to deal with which will spike coolant and oil temps. Holding 6th is a great concept but if you don't have the cooling system to keep up with the extra heat load you're just going to cook parts.
