I wonder if its because it's regurgitating and choking on its own exhaust causing the rings don't seal properly and oil consumption occures?

~12gl system.. X15.. 1gl goes from full to add mark.
No samples taking that I'm aware of

In the gas world, 1 quart for every 3k miles is considered normal consumption these days. Low ring tension for ya

Definitely apples to oranges though

Beautiful day out, so 4 hrs of work, new SRS sensor, front hubs and shocks. No more airbag light, no more ABS light, no more "check brake system" light, no more incessant chimes, no more grabbing brakes. BBT drives great again.

AI for making avatars??

Watched couple videos on using AI to create cool original images from just a description. So picked a free site, and gave some Bing AI variant the simple task of, make me a KidTurbo cartoon racing theme character, using a turbocharger and the #9. It started out pretty dark when I ask for a turbo looking head. But kinda digging the Ironman chest plate.. And no idea what's in the right hand ??

Took a few prompt changes, but it kept getting better.

Then, once I added some more specific details, like "Speed Racer Cartoon" and KidTurbo on uniform front, it started to understand my idea. Then I ran out of free attempts...

So here's what I'm rolling with... (n)(y)

unfortunately the search engines are useless now tom. I use AI when i'm working on my old truck. It's pretty amazing what info you can get from it in regards to wiring

I think AI has it's place. As ken posted above, about making images.

But for search engines and asking about things I think it's way off on being reliable. It's pulling it's information from the Internet with no idea if it's accurate or not. But the AI will report it as correct. I don't think it should be used as a replacement for manual searching right now. Maybe in ten years. If we're still around....

Everything about AI creeps me out.
It's just Google Algos 2025 tied to an 1997 IRC bot.. Normally I'd be the one ranting all about it, but so for, not impressed.. What it is good at is coding, reverse engineering, and comparing thousands of images very quickly. But ya gotta train it to not pee on the floor first. Without training, my dog is way smarter.. But with good training, it can sniff out things most humans would miss.

Good thing it's not a self driving semi truck?
I saw a statistic few days ago on Tesla autopilot engaged crashes 2024. Issue there is good example of failure in AI technology. While a modern computer can sort thousands of images per second, it needs to compare multiples at a time, to known images, and make instant friend or foe decisions. The lack of secondary sensors, such as LIDAR, allows all TESLA cameras to fail the cruital wile e coyote test..

The fact Tesla logs all their camera data, along with every time you fart, and maintains the originals copies in house bothers me just as much. But good hackers can recover it from hardware, and data doesn't lie, imaged based AI alone just not quite up to snuff yet.. Good hacker stuff in this report.

If ya wanna impress me with AI in Autos, introduce a simple Pothole Avoidance System first..
