Sad that 12’s are slow . Just tells you how easy it is these days to make decent power and get it down the track

Yeah, and my drivetrain isn't setup to go much faster or handle much more HP/TQ then currently. Even the block is about maxed. Gen 6 block, cast steel crank 5140 rods and Hypereutectic pistons..

I'd go for the experience, much like the HRPT

I currently don’t own anything that’s less than 200k miles.
Both good rigs are broken.
Only running rig I have is my FJ40.
Borrowing a shop car for the wife.

Even 20k won’t buy you a decent rig. And a 50k rig isn’t any better than the 20k one.

So I guess I’ll just not sleep and fix my two broken Toyotas

I had quite an exciting day last Friday but not in a good way. I was on my way to pick up some parts for a job I was working on in the shop, when a guy decided to turn left into the side of my truck. I was unable to avoid the accident, and the impact caused my truck to roll several times. The truck is a total loss, but it protected me well enough to allow me to walk away from the accident. I'm still pretty sore, but I'm doing fairly well at the moment. Here's a pic of my truck.

Yup, thats why i bought the limo back. The grass aint greener and warranties fucking suck dick.

Im really considering an aftermarket warranty though. Run it through my shop, have my guys work on it and not pay shit lol.

That sucks about rolling your truck, nice to see you walked away with minor concerns!

As for working on old stuff because the new stuff is “junk”. I tend to agree, waffled for 6-months to a year and finally decided the $$ spent fixing the old truck would likely be more reliable than waiting for the new stuff to break down.

I’m at the point I need a truck. A buisness purchase, not for tax reasons because I need one.
But what do you buy.

2500-3500, 17-19 l5p is a really decent truck. Would not get a 2020+ because… trans. Same with ford. 16-19 ford with the 6r140 and good maintenance papers to back it.

1500, really hard to beat a ford f150 with the 5.0 and 6r80 trans. Or a toyota tundra. I know of alot of construction companies that run the hell out of those trucks and they last. The 10 speed is junk unless it has the most recently updated trans.

If you dont NEED the diesel, stay gas. So much cheaper in the long run

Definitely planning to stay gas. I don’t need a diesel anymore. 10k will be the heaviest I tow anymore and it’ll be “short” distances. Plus emissions.

I had a perfect Tundra. Sold it. Didn’t drive it because I couldn’t stand the seats. I put like 5,000 miles on it in a year. That truck would have out lived me if I kept it.

I despise anything 10 speed. So we agree there.

I’ve been thinking about a 15-19 gas 3/4 Chevy. New enough to feel newer. Not new enough for 10 speed.

I need a truck with 6 seats and that limits over half the truck market off the top. I’ve pretty much come to the conclusion I will have to de-console a truck to get what I want.

Edit.. 5.0 6r might be a viable option.. add a little boost on top and it would be plenty

Just dont get the 8 speed. Even the 6 speed has its issues in the newer trucks but are for sure the most reliable from gm
