Well this is outstanding??‍♂️
ordered parts and vendors put signature required on the package, gues I'm taking a day off to wait for UPS.
I don't ship enough to warrant getting their "premium plan" which doesn't state if I can sign on line or not which would be the only reason to get it

Left a message earlier today with the company, some what expressing my annoyance about the lack of being upfront signature required on all purchases.

Got a call back about 730 pm from guessing the owner. He gave his speel on why they require it, 90% of which I knew about from having friends that are business owners.

He couldn't grasp that I'm not annoyed about the requirement. What im annoyed about is the fact I had to wait 3 days to find out after the fact about signature required. Had the information been readily available I'd have entered an address to place that's manned as I'm generally not home during normal delivery hours M-F. And even if I fill the slip out, and say pick it up in person local to see only dies it M-F.

He said they always require signatures for orders

Told him I've never done business with you, so how am I supposed to know this? Especially When nothing even hits about this when going through online ordering, had it did, we would not be having this conversation.

To which he asked where would I like it to be send, told him change the address to my employer, there will be someone there between 8-5 M-F.

Gues we'll find out.
Well picked the box up today at work .. problem is they sent the wrong rear output yoke. They sent a 1350 flange vs a 1350 non CV yoke??‍♂️
The other yoke in the picture is a high clearance 1310 CV yoke for the front shaft

Probably will make my own
I made my set from 2awg festoon cable. It had four conductors. Stripped the outer sheath to get at the individual cables. Then used twist loc welding connectors to join them together to make long set that can be split into two pieces with the jumper clamps on one end and welding connectors on the other. Plug the welding connectors together and it's about 21 feet long. Works well because I can use the panel mount welding connectors in the bed of my truck to get jumped or jump others as well as when joined together used like regular heavy duty jumper cables

Copper clad aluminum scares me a little... aren't they dissimilar metals? Galvanic Rust, no? When I had an aluminum boat and the EPA outlawed TBT bottom paint, we had to be super careful with copper based paints. IIRC we were able to buy the tin paint in small quantities for the lower units and outboards, but we were stuck having to put down a separation paint between the hull and copper paint.

IDK how they're doing it . I'm not footing the bill.
They won't spend the $$ to.buy an appropriate sized jump pack for a semi, all three 1/0 100% cooper 20-25' cables are 250-500.00

They're Miller's entry level line.
For 1200.00 good deal. Now all I need is a tig and plasma torch lol
There was a couple Lincoln 210MP units for 1000 pop up which has tig capacity, but your duty cycle takes a big hit

Something else that's gone up quite a bit in price. Hobart stuff used to be cheap at Rural King / TSC 10 yrs ago.

My latest hobby welder ended up being a Firepower, made by Esab apparently. A lot more digital settings than I know what to do with

I paid ~600 for my Lincoln 140 in 02
Which Is about what most equivalent size welders are running that aren't made on foreign shores
New the ironman 240s run 22-2500 for something that is dedicated mig and can push 280amps

TLDR
The findings.... Water is wet and planes without pilots will crash ??‍♂️

From aviation 24/7
*** Final Report ***

N3694U Cessna 182G Eloy Arizona 24 APR 2022

The accident airplane was part of an exhibition event, the goal of which was for two pilots to fly two similarly equipped airplanes in a vertical dive, after which they would simultaneously bail out and transfer to the other airplane. The pilot of one airplane was able to successfully transfer to the other airplane and land without incident, however, the other pilot could not enter the second airplane because it entered an inverted spin shortly after egress. The pilot reported that he believed the airplane entered a spin due to the ballast that was added to offset the weight of the safety pilot. He added that the airplane was outfitted with a parachute system that was designed to trigger at an altitude of 1,000 ft, and deployed while the airplane was inverted, which resulted in it only being partially deployed when the airplane impacted the ground and was substantially damaged.

Probable Cause and Findings:
The unoccupied airplanes exceedance of the critical angle of attack which resulted in a stall, subsequent inverted spin, and impact with terrain.

Well, that sounds like another one of those, "Well, duh!" kinds of things, where people with some sense say, "Ya know, just because you CAN do it doesnt mean you SHOULD do it".

On another topic....even though I asked to never hear about it, my brother in law tells me that his son is REALLY enjoying BBT. I guess he's taken that truck all over Michigan, and it runs and drives great. Well, no shit. There wasnt really anything mechanically wrong with it. That damn truck!

....and here I sit pondering if/when I should cut my losses on this Colorado.....

Did you try the power service stuff yet? It’s still got mine running like it should and I’m on the second tank without it.
