Having our annual Thanks Giving or Sunday before gun season opens, slug shoot at Forked Runs Sportsman Club this Sunday at Noon.
We shoot for money and meat if anyone close is interested. And being the last dear I spotted in this county was stuck in the front of my wife's car, likely be the only meat I drag home this year. Our range is pretty chill. Drinking and Gambling is highly encouraged.. Have to even the odds on young guys with scopes..

I used to go to West Virginia for opening week, they let all the schools out bc they knew they weren’t coming anyway.?
Nov 15th is a day off school for most rural districts in Michigan.
Sometime in the early 2000's all the local school's here started making Monday after Thanksgiving a day off. Before that, everyone including half the teachers just called in sick on opening day.
I personally haven't gone out deer hunting in over a decade. Break out the old Winchester for this one match, then back in case till next year. Unless a coyote walks thru the yard, it don't get much use these days..

Our LSD has tomorrow off as well
I haven’t deer hunted since 2003. I like to quail and duck hunt. My favorite thing to do besides fishing is shoot skeet and trap though.
Geese hunting is a absolute blast also
