Now you need a couple more cans for the rest of the truck...
@SoCalMike implied similarly on DF.
I still haven't washed it yet,
I don't have a solid back up vehicle right now to take the LMM down to paint the rest of it.
The suburban is basically done, between coolant leak and front steering is shot, I probably won't take it on the road unless it's an emergency.
Both my K20 and my Malibu need quieter exhaust at a minimum lol
And my 97 C3500HD needs a new engine

Got a lot of other stuff that needs done on other projects mainly home related that's more important than matching cab n bed colors right now .
calendar wise lows are starting to drop into the 40s at night here in Ohio.

I thought the Burb was more of the general beater like for the winter and what not?

So what does it need? A complete front over haul?
Where is it leaking coolant? engine?

It was THE beater since '16.
Burb is 2wd, with 497k miles the LQ4 burns~1qt of oil roughly 5-600 miles.
Front need full work over including bushing in the lower control arm.
Coolant leak, the puddle is directly under the balancer on the ground.. most likely the water pump, it's original to the burb, when I got it ~250k miles ago.

AC doesn't work, random long cranks, never did figured the cam position sensor code out to include backfires while starting..
Voltage gauge moves with turn signal
Rear AC/heat has been disconnected/remove since 18?

That is the better of the two front tires off the burb??‍♂️
IMG_20250811_160633250_HDR.jpg

Need shocks and tires to finish up the LMM mechanically, looking at ~1300 for 4 tires plus 400 for 5100 shocks, unless I rob them off the burb as well??

Part of me is toying with the idea of replacing the burb with a 95-00 2500burb with a 454 or possibly a 6.5td?

There's also few nice 06-10 3500drw WT package trucks on auto trader as well

Crank position sensor code is from cranking it with low voltage.
I haven't dug passed making sure the main power cable to the fuse box is good. And all easily accessible grounds are good..
Ran to the metal scrap place they took everything but my old frame some #2600lb worth.. said I need an affidavit saying I didn't steal my frame??‍♂️

No pic of the bbq? ?‍♂️
I was hungry,.just short of inhaled it.. 1lb of brisket with Mac n cheese and tea

A sawzall is your friend, isnt it?
Yeah, I got one of those... Also have "large" oxy/acetylene torch
I'm pretty sure this is the kit I bought years ago. The parts list is close

Tried those Diablo blades. When cutting the bed up.. I don't think they had that much continuous steel in mind, made it ~8' before teeth where missing. That or I pushed too hard and over heated the blade??‍♂️

Bought one for the 7-1/4 circular saw... Haven't tried it yet ??

I bought some diablos for the 7 1/4 when I made the flat bed. Seemed to do ok. DO NOT plunge cut with one. It will kill it quicker than you eat bbq ?.

I've used cheap carbide tipped circular saw blades from harbor freight on sheet metal. Worked awesome. Need good PPE as those hot metal chips get everywhere

I used the ones made for metal and for wood. The metal ones only lasted slightly longer then the wood. But the price was several times more. The more expensive quality ones might do much better than the harbor freight one's I used.

Been working on cam bolts today, found one of the front shocks original to the truck when I got it... Said it quits some where... It's a 2 piece shock now
The cam bolts have more travel than the elongated holes in the frame do.. got the front shoved all the way out.
Like to put tubular upper control arms one down the road...might elongated those holes fully then.
Robbed the shocks off the cab n chassis frame I bought earlier this year..
Need to get a fresh set of 5100 ordered.

Scored a AAM fined diff cover off FBMP..
kinda wish there was more fins on the inside.
It's not a banks version, but should do substantially better than a rusted up flat steel version
Gear oil that came out wasn't horrible, definitely a seasoned smell but not burnt.. fresh conventional 85w140 back in. Did a fluid change on the front diff as well with same weight oil.
85w140 definitely over kill for a daily, currently, once things sorted I'll definitely be putting some heat in the diff via trailer weight

Nice find!

Where is the passenger side E-brake cable?
Thanks
Rotted off, just finally finished removing it as it was in the way, DS wasn't in the way but needs removed as well..

Do they still come with external torx bolts?
Yes, those sockets I don't have nore do I plan on getting any currently. thus 6 point 10.9 8-1.25 by 35 with washers where aquired

Has to hammer the socket onto each OEM to get them off??‍♂️

Side note, when the oil comes out the fill port... It doesn't hit any fins if the axle is level and the fill boss is raised enough it doesn't run down the side either????
