Thanks guys, the welder wanted to act like a little bitch this morning but still turned out ok. I'll post another pic after its painted. I want to do powdercoat but the closest place is an hour from me. I may just sell these primed and painted with a textured paint and also offer them unpainted for people that want to have them coated themselves. Id like to post a price but I don't want to step on anyone's toes. If an admin would pm me some info on becoming a vendor I'd appreciate it. If it's too costly or involved for just selling one product I will sell these through existing vendors.

Send Kat a PM. She will help you out there as ive talked to her about this as well :D

Thank you. There built out of 1/4" plate, really thinking about dropping to 3/16" everywhere but the bottom plate. She's a little heavier than the stock member now, I want to get it at least close to the same.

Primed and painted with black hammered paint this morning. Did a test fit on my truck with no trans and everything looks good. This one will be installed in a truck first of next week. If it fits like I think it's going too I'll be ready to take orders then. To get the ball rolling Evan @ Limitless Diesel has offered to broker these for me temporarily. You'll be placing your order with me and I'll be taking payment. I can do PayPal and credit cards. If Evan decides he wants to carry these himself they will be available to him and also Mike L if he chooses. Hoping to reach a broader market. The cross member will retail for $280.00.
I appreciate the compliments, advise and kind words from everyone, I'm excited to get back in the game!

Looks great. Any chance you'd sell one not welded together for a diy guy like me? Be cheaper to ship too Id think..

Price is great and I hope you keep building em because if so I'll put one on the tahoe when the swap goes down.

I can relate to wanting to assemble it yourself but I'd rather not start that, I hope you understand.

No worries at all. Wouldn't know if I didn't ask I'll be adding one to my parts list for the hoe..

Looks good, Landon. Well built. I've got a question, though.

Is it possible to cut holes in the side pieces to remove some weight but still retain strength? I put this thread in Socal's section originally b/c I'm looking for a lighter x-member and Guy/Mike were the only ones who offered such an item. You said yours is heavier than stock right now, which kind of defeats the reason I was looking for one.

Im talking of something like this:

I promised I'd buy one, and I will. In the end, I can always use it on BBT if it ends up not being what I need for the 1/2 ton.

I was thinking the same thing Tom! I definitely think there is some opportunity to lighten it up by windowing it on the side plates and top plates, but will probably add more cost into it.

Tom, reducing weight is something I'm working on now, I've already reduced the thickness on everything but the base plate and I know that will help allot. The stock cross member weighs 22 lbs. and my prototype weighs 36. The production model will weigh allot less, hopefully in the 20's. GM did an excellent job building a strong light member. Cutting windows in strategic places is a great idea and I'll defi look into. It will increase my cost, I pay by the inch on cuts. I'll get a price on it, if there are people willing to pay the actual cost passed down to me I have no problem doing it. I'll try to get something drawn up this weekend.

Have you looked into tubular Metals with mounting and base plate to see how it compares Landon?

Actually I have. I can build a very simple cross member using square tubing. Lightweight and cheaper. But not as appealing. It would be perfect for a race truck but if I posted pictures I'd get hammered lol.

I don't know about everyone else but if it's strong and light I don't care what it looks like, you can barely fit your head under my frame rail anyway.
