Piston Direction

Only difference is one side has the slope and the opposite side is flat on the underneath of the piston

I would be willing to bet the sloped side goes above the oil squirter so it helps direct the flow of oil to the top of the rod. Kind of a ricochet type thing.

You will notice a notch in the piston skirt on the one side of the piston. It is for oil squirter clearance. The skirt with no notch faces the valley.

Both sides have the notch....Only difference is the slope

Sorry my bad . I didn't see the other notch. I would guess the the angled section goes over the oil jet then. It seems odd that they would make the piston reversible. You would think they would angle both sides under the crown too???

Well i was kinda wondering that also....I am sure there is a reason

Only the valve reliefs Kat....I would probably be ok putting them in either way. Probably like the others said

I dont remember my old pistons being this way

Check if the valve reliefs are the same/symmetric. Intakes would be a touch smaller and would be to the right looking from the top.

Good point but they are all the exact same and larger than intakes by a couple mm

Call Arias. If I had to guess I would say sloped area over the squiter.

FYI It does not matter, Just have them all the same direction

the slope is actually from the forging process

My guess is that they have zero pin offset and can go on either side, assuming the valve pockets are all the same diameter.

It's an Arias piston. They'll know. Why don't you just call them and ask?
