There still is, just not commonIsn't/wasn't there a 3500 SRW?
I can easily supply a stock file for you. You will have to own a flashscan to edit/build tunes. Or I can flash my E35A/A40 to your VIN via SPS and provide HPTuners & EFI reads from both. That'll cost you $150 as I will have to license and take roughly an hour to update both modules and pull reads.Oh... So if I buy EFI, I can't pull those tunes and edit and reflash? hmmm
It's a bummer I don't have the stock tune, I could pull it with HP and build a tune and be done. There is a possibility I could get the stock tune flashed back on by the guy I bought it from. He was the one who built the tunes I believe, and he maybe still has the stock tune. May be worth exploring. If he put the stock tune back on via EFI, I should then be able to pull it with HP and go to work (I think).
What are my other options? Get a stock ECU, and install it, and pull the tune and go....?
I don't remember there being a way I can change the VIN on say one of my old tunes from my other LBZ and tweak it and flash that back on the truck with HP.... I used to do a ton of tuning and I haven't used HP in a while so I'm foggy on that.
Just weighing up options but I don't want to brick the ECU or end up in a no start situation if I can help it
And thanks for the info guys
I did!! I have no idea why they deleted my thread? But I got it, I had responded and thanked you. So.. thank you!!Did you get the file I sent you on HPTuners forum? It looks like your post there is gone.
ahh thank you!6698 is a late ‘06 early ‘07 OS. My ‘07 was a 6698. The 52616698 is the DSP5 version of the stock tune. When you full flash back to a single tune it will start with a 1 again.
hey thanks that is a great price for the service. I think I have a tune that will work.. if I run into issues I will contact you for sure. Thank you for this!I can easily supply a stock file for you. As for reading out the ECM DSP5 tune, you won't be able to. That is a routine set by EFILive that does not allow it to be read, only full flashed over.
Does the ECM VIN match what the truck should be? IE ECM says 06 2500hd SRW CCSB but cab says 07 3500 SRW?
Send me your ECM serial number. That should take care of it.I purchased the $250 option in HPT to have all 2006 duramax vehicles unlocked. Entered that code into my unit and got everything in place.
I spent about 10 hours modifying the base tune I was sent for my OS (I get pretty detailed, but it has also been a while so I was taking my time and making sure I didn't miss anything etc.).
Anyway, went to flash it in the truck and get the "unlicensed vehicle" error. Did all the things on the forum to try and fix that with no luck. No option to license it. I have 5 credits showing in my MPVI through the Editor so it's all sync'ed and seeing my credits etc.
Sent in a support ticket to HPT earlier today but have not heard anything yet. I'm a little lost. Hopefully they will have a solution as this has gotten pretty frustrating.
Oh, thank you!Send me your ECM serial number. That should take care of it.
Oh, thank you!
Im looking for it, not seeing it anywhere. The label on the ecu itself is faded beyond recognition
I have the vin but im not sure how to get the serial?
You need to license a controller in order to READ it with HPT?I can easily supply a stock file for you. You will have to own a flashscan to edit/build tunes. Hmmm... I can't read it since it has the 5 position efi tune. I will read the TCU tune and I have that, but the ecu is all blank with no info.
I probably sound like a dumbass - but is there a way to do that remotely? Guessing I don't have some needed hardware/cables/etc. I've heard of techline but not familiar with that.It costs a license fee with GM to register a VIN to your SPS/TechLine account.
That’s the license fee I’m talking about. Flashing with SPS programs it either GMs most up to date flash for that truck. It’s the most accurate way to get a read.
