Last ship I was on had a GM 645-v12.. 7740ci displacement...had dual air starters.. 100gl tank at 3000psi reduced to 150psi
1.5" supply hoses to each of the starters

I used to work on a bus that had an air starter. I think it was maybe 30 gallons at 125 psi if im not mistaken. Only got two tries to start before running out of air

I don’t recall the volume through the starter but it’s a 250gal tank with a 2” feed line. Max pressure is about 130psi. Only takes the tank down about 20psi or so to start when it’s warm. The 2 stroke windmills pretty easy. Likes the ether when it’s cold though lol.

I know some people keep spare engines and trans for their trucks.

If you could find a cheap engine and build it up over time it might pay off in the long run as you would have a spare just in case something like this happens in the future. Although with a spare engine there is not a lot of drive to build it.

got to be running long enough to build up disposable income like that...new 6cta long block is 9000.00 easy

WOW. Looks like the piston and head were kissing on the up stroke.
What model engine is that? I know some people that keep an eye out for cheap stuff like that.

According to the ESN.. Engine serial number I'm supposed to have 12 piston oil cooling jets... The number on the block I have doesn't match what's on the ESN build sheet.. and it doesn't have any piston cooling jets.. my gues previous owner cooked the original block and put this one in with the OEM parts off the old block.
Bearings look good
