My 04 cloth seats are the most comfortable to date. Even the 06 leather were not as comfortable as the cloths.

The 24 seats are nice.

On the charging issue, GM Field service engineer will be at dealership this week for another vehicle. He said while there he will look at mine to see if there are any issues.

To date:
1 - does not follow startup charging protocol of 14.5V for 30 seconds
2 - does not enter charging mode with defroster, heated seats, and heated steering wheel on with voltage dropping to 12.3 at times
3 - does not enter charging mode at times when voltage is below 12.5V.

AND the other day, voltage was 15.5V for over 1 hour. Waiting for it to explode a set of batteries.

I hate GMT-800 cloth. My ass instantly turns into a swamp and I feel like I’m constantly sliding out of the seat. My 03-06 leather is better than my 99-02 BUT it has new cushions so I may like 99-02 more when I get new cushions.

Personally I didn’t mind the K2XX leather seats. The T1XX cloth seats are comfortable to me as well but I’ve only done a three hour drive in them.

Well, I brought my truck back yesterday morning for the factory repair. They had two other trucks in for the same repair before me. I got a call this morning and they said to pick it up. I looked at the dealers ticket and saw the cost was $2800. Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture of that invoice but here is my copy with what was done under warranty.

Welp... Looks like the other shoe just dropped.....

GM Program #N242480630
Status Incomplete. Remedy not available
NHTSA AWAITING#
Date Issued: 2025-03-06
Description
General Motors has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety may exist in certain: 2019 – 2020 model year Cadillac CT6, 2020 – 2021 model year Cadillac CT4 and CT5, and 2020 – 2022 model year Chevrolet Camaro vehicles equipped with a 10-speed transmission. A transmission control valve in some of these vehicles may be susceptible to excess wear over time, resulting in a gradual loss of pressure within the valve that can cause harsh shifting. In rare cases, the wheels may experience a momentary lock up.

Safety Risk Description
If the wheels lock-up momentarily while driving, there is increased risk of a crash.
Repair Description
Dealers will install new transmission control module software that will monitor valve performance and detect excess wear approximately 10,000 miles before a wheel lock up condition could occur. Once detected, the transmission will be limited to fifth gear, preventing the possibility of a wheel lock up condition, which occurs in a downshift from eighth gear. A service engine light and reduced propulsion message will also display in the instrument panel.

Mine limped while diving in some loose sand the other day. Threw a service ESC light, I had to clear the codes to get it out of limp. Dealer has ordered the parts, great job GM, why in the world did they ditch the Allison?

Obama made chrome process illegal in USA. That’s why Harleys all have china chrome…

I was wrong about entire country, it was California that banned it. But the best chrome came from out there. It’s not common here in the states anymore bc the EPA regulated it to death.

Quick Google search says CARB voted to phase out the chrome plating process for decorative use by 2030, and essential use by 2039. So, should still be doing it for at least several more years.

But even something like nickel plating would be better then raw aluminum. I wonder if anodizing would help. It will grow the dimensions a small amount. So might need to home the bores with a diamond hone. More wear and chemical resistant then raw aluminum.

But I still vote for a sleeving the bore. Oversized reamer and press in a sleeve. Send it. Could possibly make of a kit for people to do it at home hint hint, @Bdsankey

Used to have a chrome plater on this side of town. Business closed years ago, the old building site is considered a "superfund" contaminated property.
