    Strange apply plate modification

    Anyone used / seen a c3 / c4 apply piston modified like this? Transmission was supposedly built by BD years ago, but another guy has had his fingers in it. I'm assuming the original goal was to run a friction plate against the piston, but it currently has a thick .125" spring plate on the bottom.
