I dunno....been doing family stuff
Was not loading this morning. Finally got through. And apparently I'm going to need to invest in a bench harnessSeems ok to me
Love the pumps, but that module he sells can eat a bag of dicks. Burnt one up like a year after purchase, John sent me one under warranty and he claimed it had moisture intrusion. Well not really my problem as it's tied up on the firewall... Replacement module had issues a few years later and would stick on, probably what melted my one pump... Bought one new pump motor and another module about 6 or 7 years ago, that module quit working a couple weeks ago and wouldn't turn pumps on. Built pressure when pumps are wired direct so I just bypassed the module and oil pressure sensor, straight off a regular relay now.Chasing a draw on the batteries. Down to the Kennedy fuel pump relay I think John is awesome for help!
Yeah I love the pumps , but I'm not super impressed with the controller or John either.Love the pumps, but that module he sells can eat a bag of dicks.
Is your filter before the pumps? I know John advises against that, I don't see how any filter setup would give issues if plumbed after the pumps.Yeah I love the pumps , but I'm not super impressed with the controller or John either.
I'm surprised you've had that many issues with it. I burnt one up a few years ago but it probably made it 13 years+. Although I think the one that I have now that's only 4 years old is giving me fits. I even "regularly" wash my engine bay. However mine's mounted to the fender behind the fuse box and hood hinge. Even with a blast from the pressure washer I'm not sure water could really get up inside it.
John's always been kind of a grouch to me. After a handful discussions about issues with my pumps over the years he finally told me that the Nick's secondary fuel filters was causing it. He was right, but damn it shouldn't of been that hard to come to that conclusion. Obviously he's seen it before, but no one seemed to want to talk about it.
My pumps been on since 09 or earlier. Is your filter before the pumps? I know John advises against that, I don't see how any filter setup would give issues if plumbed after the pumps.
Original install on mine was 2010 so it's had plenty of time to show bugs
Interesting. I take it the filters are lower than the pumps? I'm still using an adapter on the OE filter head. I bet you could create a pin hole air bleed and route it back to the tank ventMy pumps been on since 09 or earlier.
Nope after the pump for the filter. Even after bleeding the fuel filters there's always an air pocket there that seems to migrate back to the pumps and cause cavitation. I have a fuel pressure gauge that has an alarm when it goes 0. I would regularly have it just go to 0 for no apparent reason and sometimes it would stay there for a second sometimes it would be there for a couple days. I could never figure it out. Pumps always seem to be running. I always suspected they were going bad. But it would work fine at times and John told me
that wasn't the issue. John was no help till finally 1 day we were talking about it again and he blast Nick's kit like everyone knew it was junk. I drilled and tapped a bleed port toward the top of the housing. Every once in a while I'll get air stuck in there and have to bleed it again but never had a problem a quick bleed wouldn't fix since.
I don't miss socal. This has been real fun
