Not really. Got a lot to do around the house to keep me busy for a year.
I have been thinking about another job, though.
My father-in-law retired like 4 times. LEO, school bus driver, picking up labs from Dr offices, and lastly he worked full-time basically for free at the blood bank. I hazarded to bet that place fell apart when he left almost. He did almost everything other than draw blood.

I need to have a purpose. Yeah, babysitting is fun, Asher and I are buds, but I've no interaction with people like I did, and i miss it. Sure doesn't help that everyone from the old route tells me they wish I could come back.

Today Roni and I are in a hotel, though.. Nephew getting married in Rochester Hills.

i piggybacked on the wedding, as everyone is here, and am finally interring Dads ashes on Sunday.
He didn't leave specifics, and my siblings shot down every idea I had to scatter them. I got fed up and forced the issue. It's the last item on the estate to-do list.

When I was starting in the USN I met a guy like your father in law.. life has other plans for me though🤦🏻‍♂️

Last night we had a thunderstorm come through our area. Was pretty intense, especially for our area that rarely gets anything like this. Main part of the storm went on for about two hours with the peak having strikes about one per second. Then it tapered off late into the night with the thunder getting further into the distance.

Mostly cloud to cloud strikes. Thunder wasn't as loud as I expected. Mostly just a continuous low rumble. Wind and rain picked up pretty good too

I love Lightning and thunder. I grew up mostly in tornado alley and loved storm season. Surprisingly we get way more rain down here in the gulf coast but don't get nearly as much thunder and lightning. Accept during hurricane Ike there was some creepy ass lightning. It was almost like the lightning strikes from War of the worlds. When the aliens were coming down...😆

I love lightning too. Such an enjoyable experience. Baffling to me how some people get scared from it

Can’t wait for our first storm of the year. We don’t get too many in the valley, but quite a few light shows from the Colorado river basin. Usually just the clouds lighting up.

Have you looked at ups?
I'm not interested in anything Union labor related, honestly. Being in Ohio there are A LOT of decent non Union jobs.

One of the downsides to switching jobs/career field is getting a home loan most places want 2 years of employment.

This May will be 4 years. So far, twice maybe 3 times I've been made the scape goat and written up. For actually standing my ground and doing my job. I do have a substantial amount of autonomy of how I go about my job. Which is very rare as a company driver.

Immediate boss says he likes me and I'm " most dependable" driver.. how much is that smoke or fire 🤷🏻‍♂️
I do know he fight for me up to the line slightly before that involves putting his job in jeopardy. What's that worth? IDK water through an open the hand 🤷🏻‍♂️

I've been scolded on "not making friends with coworkers outside work".. quoted Full metal jacket like he to them.. they're less then thrilled officially about that

Nothing wrong with being a UPS Teamster. If we didn't have the union, UPS would've pushed us right to the edge of DOT 14hr days, every day, with no recourse. Pays well once you get thru progression, too...not to mention the benefit package.

I don't have any friends from work, either. I guess it's the old, "I'm there to work, not to socialize" mindset. That being said, I do have a lot of friends from the route.

While I'm sure they are out there, market usually correct them as everyone leaves..
I've never had a company push for the full clock. Regularly

I have a friend that drives for ABF... The only reason he puts up with the BS there, he has a new family and the kid has some medical issues and ABF covers most of not all medical bills.

Route friends, definitely, have a couple that refuse to unload me till I ate lunch with them🤣

We pick my son up from the hospital yesterday. Insurance seems to think he has made enough progress he should be home and we need fine out patient services. However it takes weeks to get those setup. We feel like they set us up for failure. Insurance was trying to push him out the door as soon as he was stable. With the training we got from the hospital we are better equipped to help him, but sensory impulse for him to hurt himself is still there. That is where we where hoping the hospital would help the most. Having him there under the supervision of the Psychiatrists that could make medicine changes in real-time was where we thought we could make the most progress. It's hard to get him to appointments. He doesn't do well in vehicles and the Psyc is relying on us to observe him to help make medicine changes. So now instead of that being able to happen in real-time it takes weeks. He's definitely better, but their is still a lot of work to do.

Don't have the cash right now... And If I learned anything, don't build/fix the same equipment that you're trying to make money with.
Thats a project getting it ready.

Needs full set of tires, truck and trailer
Trailer needs new deck, air bags, shocks, EOH Pump, air system and tank fixed

Trailer has 12k axles previous owner put 17" wheels on it which derated axles to 10k.
Mainly because he and I upgraded brakes running from the Dexter 11x1"" to GMT800 13x1.5" front rotors and calipers.
IMG_20220501_122427865.jpg

Looking at 3-4k in tires for the FL70
Trailer gets swapped to 17.5 singles or 19.5 duals
225/70/19.5 be ~260.00 x 8
235/75/17.5 be ~300.00 x 4
Plus rims for both and spare
17.5x6.75 steel rims run from 100-150.00(alcoa aluminum run about 350.00)
19.5x6 rims run from 280.00/4.00 steel/aluminum

The nice thing about the FL70.. I can runa regular semi trailer behind it.. which that's 10-15k used plus what ever is wrong that needs fixed
