Well, so far so good for (#12 on the list) Wyatt, first pass of Sickweek got him a new pb! He shook the tires hard and peddled it and still managed to run an [email protected] with it and load up and ride out to the next track! Everything else is still the same on it. If he can get it to leave without the tire shake it will most likely run a 4.99/7.99 pass!

Thata freaking sweet. Pretty sure that socal engine wasnt meant for that power though? Maybe wyatt upgraded it since?
Nope, same engine he has been fixing up the past few years! Did this on a single Exergy Alpha cp3 and an S485 turbo on a full liquid street motor that drives great is just plain nuts! I told him it would run a 7.99 so he had to prove me wrong lol!

Well, I posted too soon! My boy went big today and ran a [email protected] for a new pb and may also be the new 4x4 diesel 1/4mile record also! Congrats to Wyatt for never giving up on it even though he could have many times before.
Looks like Derek Rose went 7.394 on his 4.819 1/8mi pass and claims they went 7.01 @ 155mph on the brakes during testing.

I think it's safe to say that's a 1/4mi 4x4 Duramax record and a 4x4 1/4mi streetable record!

Is this just bragging rights or??? Doesn't an official record need to be backed up and during a competition event? Not sure where Derek ran his pass

Derek did post his slip but has since deleted the comment thread on Exergy’s post. Derek’s slip was from Bradenton International in FL.

There’s many records that have never been backed up. While I agree it’s nice to see that happen I don’t think that’s ever going to be realistic.

NHRA was the big "has to be backed up with in x-amount to count as a record" and a few of their sister organizations. Rest of the world doesn't care, if you do something that hasn't been done before it is a record plain and simple. We can all do the math and can call a bs number when we see it so it really is a moot point. Yes, Derek ran the fastest 1/4mile passes for a diesel 4x4 but it was also a billet block promod type setup, not a street truck that drove 150mile or so between tracks and ran two passes back to back at 171mph which is the coolest part of all of it honestly. Wyatt is the fastest Dmax to-date in the 1/4 and the 2nd quickest 4x4 diesel ever in the 1/4mile. Pretty awesome to say the least and I couldn't be more proud of him for all the work that he has put into that beast to get to where it is right now. The down side to all of this is the fact that last year during sickweek he broke a waterpump and nucked this motor and it was breathing pretty heavy because of it and we aren't really sure if that was a contributing factor in the motor letting go on the big end during that pass or if it was something else completely but it was pumping coolant and has a dead hole. After the dust settles he will rip it apart and assess the damage and we will make a game plan for it!

100000% agree here! Derek's passes were impressive but to me Wyatt's achievements are more impressive. He's still running a cast block and a relatively "standard" build, nothing off the wall or unobtainium.

It sucks to hear he had another failure. I wouldn't be surprised if the cylinder wall left the group chat. I wonder if Fleece is still working on their cast AL block?

Thats pretty much why Pat had guys post a viable slip to account for the times they claimed and allowed times to be recorded on here.

Backing up times is meh in my book. You can see how wyatt has inched closer and closer to this PB and record holder based on your posts

In my years of racing with my uncle I’ve seen some bs slips that were a record but they could never run the number again. With that being said. I don’t see it being needed here.

But if we are talking about holding the record for the quickest 28x10.5 car. Or something along those lines. You better be able to run the number more then once.

Mark, I was wondering when you were going to give me some more work. It's like no one knows how to drive in the winter

You transposed the et numbers, he was ripping for sure, just not 7.7xx.

Was hoping to better my numbers too, just wasn’t in the cards for best single pass. We did better our average for the week, which got us number 47 out of the 285ish who completed the event.
