I don't necessarily think losing bw makes that big of a difference in overall strength. I've lost 25 pounds this year but all my lefts have gone up. I'm still 5 pounds heavier than I was when I was at my peak strength. I know I can get back to that point (been about 8 years). The difference now to then is it more motivated and driven to lift harder rather than when I was 21 I would just keep stacking weight not worrying about hurting myself. Now I push my myself a little further each week.

If your overweight by a large part, losing some weight may not affect anything, but if your some what close to your optimal weight I can tell you without a doubt it affects my lifts. Glad it doesn't affect yours.

I'm 5'7" and currently 205 lbs so from a general health stand point I'd be considered over weight based of height to weight ratio. That doesn't take into account muscle mass. I'm under 20% body fat so I wouldn't consider myself over weight. I would say my body responds well to lifting and I have a lot more strength than most people my size.

This^^^. Your lifts will be better at 15%BF than at 8-10%BF.

Technically I'm doing time under tension training by holding a 7lb baby and I know some of you know exactly what I'm talking about. So worth it and here is the little princess responsible

So woke up at 5 and had intended on going to the gym, went to the bathroom and proceeded to see all my food again. Sicker than a dog. Not sure what I got but I'm sure, stress, diet and lack of sleep played some of the role. Hopefully I can get back to it next week
