Well Friday my truck was stolen from work. Missed seeing it happen live by less than 10 minutes. Security pulled the tape and a guy was cruising the parking lot (general population) with a Jimmie key checking locks. Hit one truck (another Silverado) and then my truck. Opened right up and he was gone. It happened at 12:55 pm and I took some trash out to a dumpster right around 1:00 pm. Pretty torn about how I feel about it. I was about ready to pull the trigger on a trans, and I’m pretty sure it needed injectors. It had 320,000 miles on it. Quite frankly I don’t want it back. I’ve been looking at getting a medium duty truck for hauling my flatbed and future RV we are wanting to get. I was actually going to the bank that day to pull money and make an offer on one. Think that was a sign? Haha. Now I don’t know which way to go lol.

There's no chip. If the thief somehow had a key with the right cut to work, it would start right up.

That's weird. What year truck was this? I'm pretty sure my 04 had those keys with the little + symbol on them indicating some kind of security built in

the greater Columbus area has gotten hit with converter thefts hard this week. Myself have heard of close 20 vehicles that got hit.

damn,that’s been common here too. People going out and starting their rv and rawr race car exhaust
if im in a place i dont feel right about, i take the starter relay with me. i usually load the trailer and hook it to the truck before trips too so it has to stay outside, i always take the relay then too. doesnt stop them from taking shit inside but atleast you keep the rig and the stuff attached to it.
I saw someone suggest a door handle off the rear of a crew cab for the driver door so there's no keyhole any more
But then you're kinda shooting yourself in the foot if your fob battery dies or gets fried
What/how are you wiring up the kill switch to?
Spare keys? I’ve owned a vehicle for 15 years and never had an issue. Worst comes to worse break a window to get in they’re cheap.
