what about installing a set of aftermarket lowering keys? they don't appear to be excessively expensive.

Stock ones are even cheaper

While youre at the JY, get some stock lower control arm shock mounts. The ones you have are ment for a leveling kit (another indication you have aftermarket keys). Ive never cycled the suspension on stock shocks to see if those longer mounts make the shock bottom out before the arm does but i wouldn’t want to find out sled pulling

shout out to 2004LB7 and all who guessed wrong torsion keys! Ding, Ding, Ding!

OK, the rest of the story.... We sled pulled this truck about 15 years ago. Truck went in to retirement in the garage. Turned in to a maybe 500 mile a year Sunday cruiser. When we sled pulled it we lowered the bars and when we pulled back on trailer or drove home we cranked them up. Tires still rubbed just a bit when cranked all the way up but not bad. Dad, with out telling me, decided to put aftermarket 1-3" keys in so when he drove it the tires would not rub..... Soooooo, moral of the story..... Do NOT let you 75 year old dad touch a vehicle LOL. He was sitting right there when I was trying to get it lower and it not going. He was wondering too why it wouldn't go lower and why it seemed to ride so rough. I finally take the keys out and look at 2004LB7 pic of stock vs. aftermarket and show dad what we had. At that point he goes, "oh yeah, I put those in when we parked it from sled pulling".............. FML

Thanks to all!
