What I hate is they pull the filter as a courtesy, but then want to charge you labor to replace it. If they would just charge the filter price since they already did the labor, I'd be more likely to go for it.

What got me the other day, they charged me $20 for the labor to do an oil change (I supplied the materials) but wanted $90 to do the fuel filter with me supplying the filter.

You didnt see my Buick when I bought it, did you? Dark red everywhere on the engine, brake calipers. Ugly as phuck. Its all gone now. :)

Was asked to look at a truck that was at a shop and has been towed 5 separate times now because it goes into limp mode and won't move under it's own power. This is just 1 of the many "attempted" repairs...

They also didn't put the cover back on the engine. So it's now gone...

The fuckery some people get away with is next level...

Yes, that is Speaker wire and Yes that Ground connection to the battery was not tight because of the wire underneath and the corroded screw. They also rounded the top screw on the throttle body.

I did remove that, Clean the actual connections, and replaced the battery screw so it is now tight. Also used some Dielectric grease too!

Is the plastic intake deformed and restricting airflow as well?

I mean I may or may not have done some junky stuff when I was 12 or so, but that looks like the entire 7th grade class got involved to come up with some of that.

Are you talking about the intake tube?

The question now is, "did you figure out what was actually wrong with it" after you "repaired" their screwups?
So as usually, No information other than it keeps going into limp mode and check engine light keeps comes on. I was told it was taken in for a Evap code issue and he needed to get it smoged. Then it started going into limp mode. Not blaming the current issue on the hack shop, How ever they certainly haven't done any favors. They called him to pick it up just before closing and when he arrived about 30 minutes after closing he was un able to start the truck. "Supposedly" some one broke in the locked, dirty truck, Stole the Amplifier and speakers and tried to jimmy the ignition lock. Ironically no signs of forced entry or tampering from the out side of the vehicle.

No back to the issue. When I Scanned it it had some codes in other modules but nothing in the PCM indicating an issue that would cause it to go into limp mode. It did have a U100 loss of communication with the BCM I believe. but after cleaning all the corrosion and clearing the codes that's gone. After a test drive It finally started acting up after it got some heat in it.

The wiring to the TB appears to be ok. I put a spare TB just to make sure. But I don't have a TAC module or pedal from an 03- 05 to test on this truck.

When I was graphing it, the engine load drops when letting off the pedal but the TPS goes 100% and it starts lopeing till you pull over put it in park and clear the codes. I am leaning toward the TAC module.

Check the ground wire on the back of the manifold, passenger side. May need to do a voltage drop test on it or just see if it’s coming apart back there. Causes havoc like this

I remember having one that would not crank and that wire was chewed complete through. Passenger side of intake harness to the Block? It seemed solid when I was there, didn't check the fastener though.

There is a note for G104 ground that is supposed to be at the back of the driver side head? Not the large grounding strap. Either way, once it heats up, it sets on a continuous bases and seems like once you let off the throttle. Engine load goes down and the TPS goes to 100% till you clear all the codes in park.

I do know 03-05 uses the same TAC module and pedal assembly and they are different from the earlier style 02- and below as well as the 06-07 classic style. I won't get back over there till Saturday.

Bad connection may be enough for cranking but screwing with the apps signal causing the codes. Doesn’t have to be a snapped off wire for your issue. See what kind of voltage drop you get and if it will light up a headlight bulb

Yeah, I will check when I get back over there. Was able to log this on one of the last test drives before it was acting up. Then I had to leave it ready to clear the codes as we were constantly pulling over to put it in park just trying to get back.

Wanted to log the pedal too but didn't get a chance.
