I see a lot of sketchy stuff coming through here and i send a lot pic of a lot of it to a buddy (05_LLY on here). He joked that i should start a blog of what all i see but this is as close to a blog as ill ever get. I'll post some pics and stories and see what you guys have come across too.

This 08 Ram 2500 just came in. The exhaust was quite spectacular. This custom super scavenging exhaust went to a stack in the bed that was not fastened to the bed at all, just flopping around. There wasnt a single hanger except that broken one you see back at the u-bend, the pipe was just laying on the trans crossmember and the one attempted hanger was rusted off. It used to be attached to a bed crossmember via self tapping screws. There were also a few burn holes in the piping where they apparently tried welding hangers directly to the tubing with a stick welder.

The other wild thing was that the LF caliper was missing one of its bracket bolts, the one that was there was loose. So the caliper was slowly grinding away at the inside of the rim. Was sure to cause a catastrophe later down the road...

Just traded a 07 tahoe that had a rough country leveling kit. Must of came with new bolts or they might have sourced their own longer ones, but either way the bolts through the spacer that hold the strut to the lower control arm were way too long and had been grinding away at the shaft part of the front axles. Like a lathe. They also put the battery in backwards and couldnt figure out why the pos and neg cables wouldnt reach. Instead of noticing the battery needed spun 180* in its tray, they tore each cable out of its retainers and clips and MADE them reach the terminals in the wrong spots! Makes me wander if they probably hooked battery up wrong first.

Check out the custom wiring job for the inoperable glow shift gauges in this LMM. What to do with extra boost gauge tubing?? Just pack it all in a wad and wrap around your brake pedal! Bada bing

It also had some junk homemade CAI that i regrettably did not take a picture of and it went in the dumpster. Cant remember the exact details on it.

I've seen the leveling kit lathe too, they never understand why their cv's are wrecked and ball joints are shot either. This last one had both the swaybar end links broken off as well.

Like a Craigslist add, "minor electrical issues". My LLY had a shitty intake, it started out a new bills custom intake, then became a Reger's keep it together intake, it broke like 4 times, from the motor flexing so much with busted motor mounts on the first motor. I was always gonna replace it but never remembered to order another one.

You guys are about to make me go outside in the cold darkness to check my wife's Tahoe. I hope I'm not one of those hacks. I did at least use longer swaybar end links

Want to talk about wiring.
Toggle switches are expensive so just tape the broken one back together and just wrap the wires around the terminals the switch worked sometimes. The two wires for the alternator were taped together like that with nothing separating the stripped wires. The red wires are hot and were found like that under the dash and I found it because I could hear it sparking while driving down the road. And one of my favs I'm told It doesn't overheat while idling but when you start driving it the temp just shoots up to hot. Yes that is the temp sender sitting against the header.

I grabbed a picture of this one that came in today. I have never seen such a funky IFS lift setup. Like maybe it was the first one ever to come out. But it literally rubs on the sidewall of the tires! And they drove it like that! And to top it the truck was literally one of the most scariest trucks I've driven. Death wobble above 45mph, brakes beyond metal to metal, tires worn passed the threads, brake lines stretching and cracking. And having to blow in a disgusting breathalyzer at the same time which the customer conveniently didn't have any extra mouthpieces.

I love this thread already. Reminds me when my sister called me for help with her car, a beetle , she said it just made a loud bang and started running really really rough that she pulled over. I get there and pop the hood... Looks normal then I look underneath and notice the engine is about 2 inches off the ground.... Motor mounts broke and the engine just fell..... More stories with her and her cars than I can remember. Good times

You can call the breathalyzer tech line and they'll give you a code or tell you how to bypass those things. They just need your business license number or something. I had a really nasty dodge with one that I refused to blow into so we figured that out.

I've bought 2 repairable/part out trucks that had a hole cut in the bed floor and a piece of sheet metal screwed to the bed floor to access the pickup/fuel sender on the fuel tank. :roflmao:

Traded this Silverado 1500 in. Guy put 1" wheel spacers on without trimming OEM studs down to be flush with spacer . So all 4 wheels were seated only on the tips of the factory studs. The tires are half tread so you have to think that they'd been running like this for several thousand miles.

They also welded in a aftermarket muffler that must be 2.5" in/out so they got real creative with their reducers and welding. Possibly the worst welding I've ever seen.
