can you explain more? I reinstalled it the same way as it came outDid you assemble it correctly? Looks like the wear sleeve is in front of the entire seal? Why was it taken apart, a leak? I did have just last week a National seal leaked between the steel and rubber joint, didn't even make it down the road
Well idk, now I'm confused. I looked up the part # you have in the picture and I'm not sure how that's supposed to work.can you explain more? I reinstalled it the same way as it came out

That was my thought too. That's why I asked if he lubed it. If it stuck to the pinion shaft, it would turn the whole seal and tear out somewhere.Almost looks like the seal was spinning in the bore, which doesnt happen. Does it?
My 08 that I did didn't have a wear sleeve. Just right onto the pinion shaftWell idk, now I'm confused. I looked up the part # you have in the picture and I'm not sure how that's supposed to work.
I've always used the two piece setup that you drive a wear sleeve onto the yoke and a standard type pinion seal into the housing.

If the surface finish is smooth that's possible. The seal he has pictured, the ID doesn't appear to be designed to spin on the yokeMy 08 that I did didn't have a wear sleeve. Just right onto the pinion shaft
