Well you didn't say you wanted to know why that's why I asked. If you want to then go for it, nothing stopping you.

The delete kit is so you can put a better high flow external cooler. Or for marine and retrofit purposes. Not to get rid of it completely. Oil is one thing you want to keep cool.

Our engines need more cooling, not less. If your going to delete the factory cooler for a replacement, I'd do a cooler no smaller than the Killerbee setup.

Race only Yep!

I have no oil cooler and haven't for 4 years. It means nothing racing. Now if you go towing it's a different world. Lol it sure cleans up a bunch of ugly.

My oil temps at the track the other day went from 130° to 190° after one 1/8 pass. Not sure if the coolant heated them up quicker or if the oil just gets that hot that quick.

After just building my motor I can see why you need a cooler. Especially when they are what cool your pistons

Show me how

In a race setup how you need a oil cooler? I must be missing something because I use the same Pistons I had from 2009. I also don't run a cooler on the motor so my inlet temps get real high also. Racing is not the same as using a truck for its intended purpose.

What he said. Short use duration engines do not require cooling like street engines do. In a short use like a race application the coolers do not have time to cool anything until well after the pass is over.

Are you driving down the street? You are comparing a purpose built rail to a truck that the op wants to drive on the street here and there.

For 100% track use I agree with Jeff. But then there is that one time you wanna drive a 10 second truck to the grocery store for a gallon of milk...

I'd keep it personally. I swore to myself I wouldn't drive my race truck on the street much... ended up putting 15k miles on it in a year and a half... Vegas, Cali...

Race setup

If your just driving a short distance you would still be fine. These motors don't make a bunch of heat unless there under power. Now under power they can make a bunch of heat.
