Went on a day-long fact-finding road trip with my brother today, to find info on the lawyer that "stole" our Dad's life insurance benefit. We found the lawyer died last year, but was able to contact his son/executor of his estate. Informed him we will be going to court over this. My brother should have been a lawyer himself. He drives this slick 2008 Mercedes diesel SUV that is smooooooth going down the road, and getting well over 30mpg on the freeway.
Then we went and visited my son and dil, and took them out to dinner......even though the little rascals swiped the check from me and paid for OUR dinner. Its an ongoing competition between us.

That sucks Tom. What did the lawyer do? Did he coerce your dad to make him the beneficiary without your knowledge? If so, a slimeball attorney.
I have the same problem with my new wonderful SIL when we go out.

I had 6 crews on my job site because I have the biggest job, and we are waiting for some other to start. We moved 700,000yds of dirt last month. 1 crew does around 5k yds a day we did 25k yds. On paper we should of moved 30k, but we equipment break downs that doesn't happened.

Loaded up and ready to head to the desert tomorrow after work. Brooklyns birthday is on TG and shes been wanting a dirt bike (has a lt80 right now). Got her a 2020 crf110 (in the pic) that she dont know about. Going to hide it from her till her bday on thursday.
Also, i need to invest in some of those quick lock in wheel chocks for dirt bikes now. This multi strap crap is for the birds.
They already have flood watches setup..
Wonder if they're going to get snow

We got news yesterday insurance has approved my sons inpatient treatment. He goes in on the 9th. He is low functioning Autistic: PANDAs (brain inflammation), non verbal, and severe self injury. Things have been rough with him since '18 or so. Tried lots of meds and treatments. Nothing last more then 6 months except we had a good year last year. This year has pretty rough. Lots of holes in our walls, broken windows, and physical assaulting family members. My wife or I have been holding him to keep him safe almost 24/7 this year. No family trips because he isn't safe in a vehicle or anything.
We tried to have him committed when he was bad before he got good last year. Insurance denied it. Then we got the right combination of meds and had a good year. Meds that no longer work for him. I'm looking forward to my wife getting a much needed break and seeing how they can help my son. After everything we have tried I try to be optimistic, but I don't know if we will ever find any lasting help for him. All we can do is keep trying. Even with all the problems he brings us tons of joy. He has an amazing demeanor and infectious smile. Here he is sitting on top of one of his perches today where he likes to sit.

Kind of. TX has wild swings for Shortages and excesses of water. The ponds we are digging are for flood control.
