Hey everyone. New to Duramax but not to diesels. My old man gave me this 2001 2500HD with an 8.1. Driving through town I stumbled on this 01 GMC dually with a duramax and the guy only wanted 1500 bucks so I couldn't resist. Since its a complete truck I am going to try to convert the fleetside. Ill let you all know how it goes.

Welcome finding a decent srw 8' to your liking will probably be the hardest part converting Drw to SRW

Should be a straightforward swap 8.1 to Duramax. Have fun.

Make sure you swap over the Allison as well or at least the torque converter as it is a different model in an Allison with a diesel.
