Is there a thermostate in your kit or does it run fully through the cooler all the time?
correct there is no thermostate in mine.. running full flow.. since the natural of how i use it (hotshot) and avg weight of 24,000lbs i didnt see the point of putting one on. when im running, i avg 300-400 miles a day.... if it gets too cold this winter i will cap the cooler(s) i'm think about putting another on.. and hook the lines together with a -10 male union

If u look it has to go throught the cooler all the time. He didn't use a oil sandwich adapter. I haven't found a sandwich adapter that has -12 an fittings.

i am currently useing -10 lines with no drop in OP. the hamburger unit has -12o-rings that i put -10 adapters on..

was going to have a nice test run.. hauling a PODS moving container 8x8x16 from columbus to charlete NC.. TCC decided it didnt want to hold anymore on the way to the pickup.. at 203,000 miles on it

yep B1441 is baldwins version of stock... i have a baldwin dealer closer to my house then just about any parts store so it kinda makes sense..
next step up is a 1-12 nipple i think.... increaseing filter size/cost with out being able to increase interval change seams reduntant and pointless money wise

so it looks like it has taken some of the load off the radiator/cooling system but the oil temp is still running the same?

That's what I saw with my oil cooler when I had it, coolant would not stay at spec temp, but overall oil temp was about the same, but took longer to reach peak temps.

course the -10 45* hose fitting sprung a leak at the o-ring seal in the swivel.. 1100 miles ago oiled the driver side of the truck and trailer along with the back of the cab:mad:
used quicksteel and rescue tap to quick patch it... till i got home
fixed it with a -10 straight hose and a 1/2"npt to -10 45* fitting
also pulled the npt fittings out of the cooler cleaned off the teflon tape and coated the threads with permated adheasive sealant and re installed.. i did have and issue at the start that they where leaking.. tightened them up then the 45* hose fitting leaked out... and coated everything... so i did that while i was there

Oil cooler 2.0.. Current load was able to drop oil pressure by 10-15psi due to shear heat.. Load weighs ~4k I gross 17k
Same cooler as last time but 2 plumbed in series and a 1000cfm fan

Bringing this back, so Adam how did the 2 nd cooler help out?

Really well. While I haven't installed the oil temp gauge yet... I can tell you this.. I can watch the oil pressure come back as I crest a hill and roll out of the throttle. And oil loses 5-10psi vs 15-20 psi at 2000 rpm, when comparing to 45psi oil @2000rpm with no trailer.I have watched ect temps via V2 go from 97*C(206) to 84*C(183) in in less than ~60 seconds after cresting the hill.
On one fill up today straight to open fuel island ECT was ~85-88C (190-185) to 70C(170) in minutes just idling outside temp was mid 50Fs
As to how hot oil has gotten.. The outside rear fitting is hot oil inlet.. It is currently discolored to a purpulish hue.

So guages installed. Well oil and boost both pictures at in 5th at 70mph @2000rpm
This on I'm loaded at 22,000 with a good wind drag load and ramps up instead of laying down avg 8.5mpg over 1200 miles

This is empty ramps chain flat. I avg 11.5 mpg like this same speed and gear as the other both on flat ground in ~80° temps in Florida

In short I'm running more HP higher mph cruise and cooler oil temps

I'll be updating this.. seams I've been slacking with all the engine failures last year
But recap and I'll add pictures later.
System is full flow no t-stat with remote mount oil filter with -10 lines
Coolers have been and currently still are B&M 70724 supper coolers 11*11*1.5.
Fans where untill today Jegs 1000cfm 10".
V1 was single cooler and single fan
1064488_10200998051767066_1005486033_o.jpg

V2 was two coolers plumbed in series with hot oil entering the downstream cooler and moving upstream to the second cooler..
V2 was mounted so air flowed in series. Fan setup in pulling fashion...
1907816_10204124433804663_7482520133060989157_n.jpg

V3 same as V2 but added 2nd 10" 1000cfm fan setup in pushing fashion.
V4 same 70274 coolers now mounted abreast so each had fresh air and a fan pulling on each cooler.
Coolers still plumbed in series.
11080995_10205490187907662_8212445756797836850_n.jpg

V5 coolers setup same as V4 fans are now 11" 1600cfm spal fans
Old/new fans

As each fan pulls ~24A the 8ga I got can't handle both fans. Pulls 43A and has a ~3.5v drop across the wire vs 1.5V drop with just one fan.
Each fan will get 8ga power, relay and a 30A breaker relay with be manually switched ground control
