I don't think so. The reason for pulling fuses on the older trucks is everything was on the class 2 bus, and sometimes modules don't listen to the 'shut up' command and keep chattering, which is what causes read and write issues. On the LBZ, the only things on the high speed GMLAN bus are the ECM, TCM, and GPCM. Everything else is on the class 2 bus, so if something is chattering on the class 2 bus, it won't affect the GMLAN bus.

I have one more question, is it really necessary to pull fuses on lbz and up? Or is that more of an lly thing? When flashing tunes.

No fuses to pull, only need to pull fuses on 01-05.

Don’t get me wrong, I still unhook a lift pump because I don’t want it running for ~10min but that’s not a data issue.

Since you are using a newer version of Windows, this might be your issue

From efi live

"$0101 is listed as

USB cable is faulty or not connected. In rare circumstances the PC operating system or the EFILive software may be malfunctioning. In even rarer circumstances the FlashScan or AutoCal device’s USB circuitry may have been damaged. That damage occurs when the laptop is powered by a voltage inverter supplied from the vehicle’s battery. A power inverter must never be used to power the laptop while it is connected via FlashScan or AutoCal to the vehicle.

Check USB cables, plugs and connections. Try using a different USB port and/or different USB cable. Try rebooting the PC/laptop. Try using a self-powered USB hub between the PC/laptop and FlashScan or AutoCal. Try re-installing EFILive software

Given you have demonstrated that your EFILive software installation and hardware work on another supported vehicle, it would suggest that there is a communications problem in the vehicle.

Is the vehicle you are trying to tune supported?
Can you please ensure the cigarette lighter in the vehicle is functioning (The OBDII connector uses the same power source, so if the cig fuse has blown, you won't be able to communicate with the vehicle)"

Possible. Next is to try bench flashing it. If it won't take then it's bricked.

If you don't have the bench harness, @Bdsankey can likely help you

Yea I don't lol can it be bricked and the truck still run and drive?
Unlikely. Bricked should also be a no start. So, it it starts and runs then look elsewhere

Do you have power at the cigarette lighter outlets?
