300k on this pump, with a fresh regulator stuck in it, time to update.. My history with CP3 failures, wasn't much question when the guts are laying in the valley. But I have seen another Lb7 that did exact same as this one. Runs great, won't hold 14k rail, still driving last I knew.
On the injectors, I had a buddy hit me up about no rail pressure on LMM month back. He capped off the rails, removing 7 injectors, after testing the pump alone to prove it was good. Out of all 8 sticks, was the very last injector, returning so much fuel it wouldn't make 1000psi cranking. Told him don't buy a lottery ticket anytime soon.. Someone had just replaced all 8 sticks few weeks before.
For the VAC reading, my GM buddy said if 7-10" but holds good rail, then not a big issue. But over 7" and low rail, is considered restricted and typically that's resolved before looking elsewhere.
If was anything but LB7, I have enough spare return fittings on my bench, to stick all 8 lines in separate bottles and solve it right quick. But every time I look at an LB7, it brings back images of my 6.0L Powerstoke top end spread accross the shop floor..
