The dummies who designed them didnt make them removable per-se, as they used 3M emblem tape to mount them, unlike the old ones that were plaques in frames. I asked my mechanics if I could have mine, and they did me a solid and cut them out with fishline.

....and yes, thats a "1985" on mine.
Oh, Right on!!! That was cool of them.

Oh yeah... IIRC it takes at least a 4.5 to start doing some damage to property and what not. To me, I find it funny when there something less happens and it knocks some of the smaller things over and people freak out.... They act like it's the first time they have ever been in an earthquake. They occur more often than most people realize, they just don't notice them. We had a couple good one's down here. One that took out sections of the freeway and had building collapse back in 1994 known as the Northridge earthquake. AT the time it seemed like the apocalypse was happening. That was a 6.7 but it was also a fault line they were unaware of at the time. and the damage and destruction went right through a city causing Billions in damage and several deaths.

If you notice on this list on wikipedia it has to be at least a 5.0 to be considered a Notable Earthquake. The lowest one being a 4.9 in the 1920's but building codes and standards have changed since that time.

I was there for that Northridge quake. I remember it being around 3am or so. Came in two waves. I lived in Hollywood at the time. Our appointment sustained large cracks all around and we had to evacuate. They had to have it inspected before we could go back in. Luckily being a wooden frame, the cracking was mostly surface damage and repairable.

We took our blankets and slept in the parking lot of a church nearby. Several hundred of us all laid out like sardines

I remember the news first reporting it being over 7.0, forgot the exactly number. But each day they kept revising the number lower and lower unit it settled on that 6.7 figure. It was explained to me that the federal payout for the damage was based on the size of the quake and not how much actual damage was done. So, the news and seismologists would get paid under the table to make the number lower as that was cheaper then the disaster payout

That crazy spaghetti of freeway overpasses and interconnects in downtown had to be rebuilt due to the damage. I remember some sections of freeways that came down. Multiple apartments that had to be demolished. Some with the parking underneath crushed the cars.

Supposedly there was actually two earthquakes that where a second.or two apart and the center where the waves met was Northridge. That got the brunt of the damage even though it wasn't the epicenter

Exciting moment from my childhood

It is because they actually have to pay attention and put the Cell Phone down. You know how hard it is for the younger Generation??? Between that and not doing dumb shit ...

I bet if you hooked it up to an I pad and put all the controls on that, they would stop complaining as long as it had internet capability though... Can't live with out Face Palace TikTok and all the other garbage out there...

We're supposed to be in triple digits this week. Friday is expected to be 104°. Not quite adjusted to these temperatures yet as we are just coming out of a cooler weather spell. Humidity is only supposed to be about 30%. So, better then so of you out there

Im starting to worry about my memory and recognition.

AC wasnt working. Why? Because I forgot to flip the outside fuses into the "On" position when I uncovered the AC unit last month.

Ordered another EFI Live activation code. Couldnt find it anywhere. Went to order page.....scrolled down. Hey, there it is.

Getting old sucks ass, guys, Dont get old.

I've been avoiding it as much as possible....

I'll let everyone know how it works out in a hundred years 🤣

Well, got EFI licensing done, was able to download the tune and do some tire adjustments and upload the cal. God, I hate v8!!!!!

Installed the new 3-lock remote starter. Did some rust-treating on the frame, lower drivers door along the seam and behind the rockers. Cleaned up some surface rust with an SOS pad. Done for today.

Oh yeah....I bought a 2015 GMC Canyon SLE. 3.6. 4x4. Got some miles on her but if I didn't tell you, you'd never know. Runs great. No codes. Nothing wrong with it other than battle scars in the paint and the seats from its years on the road. Cloth seats, decent option package. Previous owner just put a set of Michelins on it. Quiet and smooth on the road. Got a set of steps coming next week.20260608_210029.jpg20260608_210041.jpg

I could not find a GMC anywhere close in good condition. The decent ones were all cat-eyes, which I hate. Rusted or lifted or modded with ugly mods was all I could find. Would've just been better to have rebuilt BBT, which would have costed a lot and a lot of labor.

This truck was in my price range, in absolutely the best shape of the dozen trucks I looked at, by far. All I really needed was a runabout to do work as needed. This will suffice, although both my kids had the same reaction you just did. :ROFLMAO:
