Hmmwv xfer case carnage

I just got home from meeting my buddy on the road. She went bang hard! He told me the trans went. When I got there it was on the rollback and I climbed under. Trans should be ok - xfer case is no bueno! Enjoy the pix!

He was driving on the highway and the magic was let out. No idea. And then he says to me… “I have another problem”. When he makes tight turns he hears a loud noise from back there. Hahahaha. Well… that’s where the xfer case gave you the first clue that you ignored Hmmwv is full time 4wd, so I’ll opine that he ignored the warning signs and a needed repair turned into replacement.

Imnsho, if a noise in a hmmwv is loud… it’s a deafening cry for mercy in a normal vehicle! That SOB is LOUD!!!

I’m about 15min from Philadelphia. $550 (used) in stock at the local military surplus salvage yard . Had it on hold before the driver finished loading, lol.

Humvee parts are everywhere around here, everyone has one for the farm. Fort Bragg is just an hour or so away. You ever need something I’m sure I could find it for you.
