G 80 , Any Guess's ??

Took off from a stop and burned the tires a lil,

Then further down the road i had a sharp turn to slow down for and my rear end felt like i had a spool in it .

Rear end seems to be locked, going around corners makes the tires chirp and it fights itself to turn.

I figure the G 80 is Junk, or is it a simple problem ?

van feels that way sometimes too. usually the only time I feel it is backing in the driveway when I'm turning in off the street.

I get that once in a while too. Usually on the turn into the return lanes after a drag race...

I find sometimes it takes a while to unlock. Try stopping, putting it in reverse then trying again.

Mine did the same things as yours did at the strip the last time out. First turn felt like it was still locked up the the second turn all was good. A friend of mine had 2 of his trucks that he uses for work get so bad it wouldn't unlock so the dealership fixed both under warranty. Those trucks get used like mine pulling stuff for work so I've been watching mine and so far so good.

I've had the G80 lock on me while on some trails to keep that fat bottom truck moving before. When I hit the pavement I thought it was welded together,
I put it in reverse went straight, then swayed a bit to the left, then the right, then straight again all while backing slowly and it seemed to come out on it's own.

Yeah, I tried Reverse, but its been stuck all day. Like said above it feels like its welded together, wont unlock.

I believe the only other option is the torsen 'AKA' Dodge rear locker. We put one in the LB7 when the G80 let go and blew a nice hole through the pumpkin. Randy's ring & pinion had the best price when I was shoping around last year.

That's what the DODGE TORSEN locker is. The TRUTRAC is also called a TORSEN locker by EATON.

I saw an ad in Diesel Power Mag that said Detroit HAS released the True Trac for the AAM 11.5 axle!
