Did I blow it up?

Hey guys, brand new member. Need help, just put an ATS stage 3 tranny in last month. I was going down the road at 60 mph, had to get into the left lane. Gave it a little throttle, when it down shifted, black and white smoke started coming out the back of the truck. I was almost home, drove through the neighborhood smoke still coming out. When I stopped and got out to look under the truck, oil was pouring out. It's coming out at the bell housing and oil pan. The top and valley is dry. Oil pressure was down to 0. I shut it down, put a gallon of oil in, still nothing on the dipstick. I drained the oil, I got the gallon I put in it back. She was empty, put that back in with another gallon. Started it up, oil pressure at 80, oil poured out the bottom, had what seemed to be puffs of white smoke coming out at the torque converter. I'm guessing I blew the RMS, what other damage could I have done?
Any thoughts, thanks...

Did the engine seem to have a misfire as well? Sounds like maybe you cracked a piston.

Blown rear main would definitely be my guess, since the only thing you changed was the trans.

But as Josh said, couldve cracked a piston, so a compression check is in order, too.

I’m almost wondering if you didn’t torch a piston and the crankcase vent is plugged and it blew the rear main seal out. See if the puffs of smoke at bellhousing stop if you leave oil fill cap off?

What causes the piston to crack? Could just the one be replaced, or are more going to follow? The truck is in to nice of shape to give up on it.

Shear power will crack pistons
Prolonged high oil temps will crack them
Prolonged high EGTs will do it.
9:10 times it's a culminating effect over time.
Quick test pull oil fill cap at idle, if there is a cracked pistons you will see a puff come out the fill tube

If one is hurt others are most likely hurt and on their way out.

I don't know of a block that has lost a piston and didn't need a bore job.

Definitely agree about not getting rid of the truck.

It will at the least need a bore job. If it’s got a hole torched from the injector it may have a hole in the cylinder wall.

Most of the time, even an unclogged crankcase vent system will not flow enough when you break a piston and the rear crank seal will blow.

I agree with Josh and Isaac. Usually when it's a miss and blown rear main as well as white/blue smoke out of the exhaust it typically means burned/cracked piston in my experience.
