Help! 2001 LB7 will not start I was towing when suddenly heard a noise pitch change and then I let off completely and truck completely shut off on me. I tried to start it up and noticed white smoke coming out of the exhaust, truck is primed, injectors are being commanded and I'm seeing 1450psi at the rails when cranking was told to disconnect rail sensor to see if it would start still nothing, I have yet to see what injector balance rates are at, truck has diesel, good battery's, filters, fresh starter. frp is getting what its commanding where do I start?

Bad injectors ??‍♂️. You should be seeing 4000ish psi while cranking
White smoke is unburnt fuel. Injectors are probably leaking

Yep. Bad injector(s)

I had something similar with a stuck injector and lots of white smoke.

Pull all the glow plugs and crank it over to see which one(s) are dumping fuel

So a return rate should 100 percent give me my answer right? and truck just hit 160,000 miles would my cp3 be a concern as im tackling the injectors?

Return won't reliability tell you which injector is hung or not

Any smoke as before? Or at all?

EDU fuse?

Cam and crank sensors? Missed pulse count?

Zero smoke im going to check the edu fuse , this scanner doesn't have the option to look at cam and crank sync but my rpms are jumping up on crank and ill check on the missed pulse count

Maybe crank pin sheered and the reluctor is off?

Ill remove the serpentine belt and check for play on the balancer but the motor sounds pretty even when cranking I did hit it with a bit of wd40 it did start for a second and sounded pretty normal it hasn't started since I'm gonna be borrowing a scanner later to see cam and crank sync and one thing I did notice the ficm hasnt had the plug in it since I got the truck wasn't aware prior to what that's what everyone talks about

If it just slipped and went out of time/sync
What's the best way to figure that out
