Please post how your suspension is setup for running the 1/4 mile. I have t-bars dropped, caltracs, and overloads pulled. I am getting alot of wheel hop, particularly in the rear. thanks

Dropped t-bars, no spring clamps or traction bars, rancho 9000 shocks turned up all the way, front tires at around 30 and rears around 25.

Tires and wheels are important.

Sticky tires and front rims don't "stick out" will go a long way towards stopping hop.

Even with excellent suspension, steel radials will hop if there is partial traction at a poorly prepped track, or one with water on it.

IIRC, there is a thread about how I have Casper set up as far as suspension goes.

Bilstiens all 4 corners ,spring clamps 3 inch drop shackles in the rear lowered t bars almost all the way down. I never got any rear end hop the front end is another story sometimes  when i swiched to my 20 inch rims and toyo proxies i strted cuting consitant 1.73 60fts prior to that 1.8-1.9 was avg for me with my other rims and tires.

Casper's drag suspension=
rear-
Single leaf + overload
Caltracs
M&H DOT drag tires
Drop shackle (DJM)
front-
SuperDiesel centerlink
SuperDiesel tierod sleeves
No swaybar
Drop keys
M&H DOT drag tires, high offset rims

This normally gets us 1.6's and has dipped into the high 1.5's. Most tracks we will spin the tires instead of hopping, most the spin is in second gear.

what pressure are you running your tires at? i have the same tires on my 22's and can't hook for $hit. i know it's bit different than your's but i should be able to do better than a 2.7 60'

Is your tuck 4x4 also i dont see a built trans in your sig Do you have one? those two factors alone would play a big part. I ran 40 psi front 35 in the rear last time at the track.

Since Pat brought up wheels and tires, mine are usually a set of worn 265 ATs on stock PYO wheels. They've been good for a best 60' time of 1.66 seconds. I've run the 285 MTs on H2s as well, and they've produced a best of, I think it was, 1.72 seconds.

nope 2wd and stock trans right now. yea i know 2wd and stock tranny is hurting me but i figure w/ slicks i can drop almost 8 tenths off the 60'. my trap speed is pretty good though, 98mph.

Full leaf pack, overloads clamped, stock 245's aired down to ~30 lbs, 3000lbs of dead weight sitting over rear axle.

Try it with the Ranchos installed set to 9 all around & see what happens.

From what Ive heard the Caltracs are meant for 2wd vehicles & are more for weight transfer to get traction, something you don't really want on a on a 4x4.
