Well… we dont know if theres more or if the updated cal causes something else because they missed a table or parameter that dictates a different segment in the trans tune. Then you will need another update and so on. Theres a shitload that goes into the calibration side of these vehicles and just knowing what i know from friends in the vehicle engineering world dealing with situations like this, the push for the fix isnt always with the best thoughts in mind. More about how to save face for the immediate future

Its just more of a personal opinion than anything. No proof or facts to stand on so take it with a grain of salt

Yup I wont be doing any of the 'updates' as well. In order to do the trans recall update I would also have to do the 'DPF regen temp' update as well to bring ECM and TCM to current files.

I refuse to do the so called 'DPF regen temp' update because I will loose about 3mpg. Im convinced its just an emissions bs update and has nothing to do with DPF temps. They retard the timing to get NOx even lower, then with retarded timing its makes more soot and gets crappier mpg's. I am enjoying true 20mpg when unloaded and it regens just fine and still regularly get 807mi between regens at 40K on the truck.

I agree, dont trust the rushed calibrations and 'fixes'.

No thanks GM, my truck is fine and I will fix it myself.

Its a new drop in. Talked with my dealer today about it. Ive sent my vb back that i got and he has me on order for that new one. Their system has not updated price on it yet and its already “backordered”

Part numbers do not line up with that article. Im guessing thats for the smaller 10 speed.

Sorry brad, realized i never got back to you.

Its a mess. The new VB’s i sent back were the last of “new”, the updated ones i thought i was going to get are now refurb vb’s, not new and they are not updated. Shoulda held on to those VB’s lol. Oh well. Apparently there is only like 3 or 4 new left in the country.

In other news, i put the new sonnex kit in today. My valve was still in great shape, luckily.

Im waiting on Ratiotek to get bsck to me if there will be any issues running their springs/mods in the low feed limit valve along with the sonnex kit. I DID NOT run the sonnex spring in the repair kit as the Ratiotek kit uses a dual spring setup on the low feed limit valve. 61k miles and still looking good. I dont have a vacuum setup to test leakage at the valve but no visible signs on the valve and the bore is still very tight.

You should consider cutting the screens out of the separator plate. My early built 2020 did not even have them.

They can fail and wad up and cause even more headaches. And expecting them to be a filter is a horrible idea. Once they get plugged a bit then fluid pressure is gonna pull them out of the separator plate.

The outboard port on the low limit feed valve is now useless as it get blanked off with the plug that you install on the separator plate. I dont think vac testing is going to tell you much as its dead anyways with the sonnax kit. The fluid is rerouted internally through the valve now.

There are no screens in mine. Its an early 2020. And yes you still can test to verify it. There are some videos on that.

0 difference in my shifting but i have been running an upgraded vb shift kit from ratiotek for 4 years now.

Im wondering if the early vb’s were built better. They were pre-covid

You can buy a drop-in upgraded VB or send yours in to be upgraded.

I've done a few with DHD and had great results.

This is the route I went.
Currently waiting for a new one from DHD.
The tech at their shop said they install a sleeve/liner in the FLL bore along with a few other improvements.
I haven’t had any issues so I’m hoping this will prevent them.
