Well… we dont know if theres more or if the updated cal causes something else because they missed a table or parameter that dictates a different segment in the trans tune. Then you will need another update and so on. Theres a shitload that goes into the calibration side of these vehicles and just knowing what i know from friends in the vehicle engineering world dealing with situations like this, the push for the fix isnt always with the best thoughts in mind. More about how to save face for the immediate future
Its just more of a personal opinion than anything. No proof or facts to stand on so take it with a grain of salt
Yup I wont be doing any of the 'updates' as well. In order to do the trans recall update I would also have to do the 'DPF regen temp' update as well to bring ECM and TCM to current files.
I refuse to do the so called 'DPF regen temp' update because I will loose about 3mpg. Im convinced its just an emissions bs update and has nothing to do with DPF temps. They retard the timing to get NOx even lower, then with retarded timing its makes more soot and gets crappier mpg's. I am enjoying true 20mpg when unloaded and it regens just fine and still regularly get 807mi between regens at 40K on the truck.
I agree, dont trust the rushed calibrations and 'fixes'.
No thanks GM, my truck is fine and I will fix it myself.
