James, in your experience, would you say the NAPA version is better? Are they less likely to have the defective boots?

Ive always been suspicious of MevoTech. This kind of story just backs up my thoughts.
Only part Ive ever used from them is the lower control arm for that Regal I rebuilt, and only bc it was solid metal with no joints.

Well sadly, napa ncp part line has now been replaced by ncd which is all dorman made. Ive seen early failures from all these different part mfg’s accept krytonite. Not saying they dont have them but their failure rate is far less than any of the store bought stuff now. Fuckin sucks ass.

The amount of new part or 1-6 month old part failure at a shop these days is through the damn roof. I buy so much oe stuff to try to help stop that but even then, we still have issues.

So what's the recommendation on this? Buy another TTX from a Brick and Mortar, or OEM or? TNX!

That really is a shame. The Dorman parts are so bad I have often wondered how they make any money. The only thing I can think is that they are buying it so low and selling it so high that its still profitable.

I saw a picture of kryp with a failed boot. The boot was green under a little black exterior fogging. Maybe the old hate posts from Dulkan (or some name like that years ago) about the Kryps being a rebranded TTX are correct. Hmm.

Amazon refunded me the cost of the TTX and I ordered two Kryps through my buddy's shop.

On to something more fun:
Tonight I got into it a little bit with a Porsche Cayenne S and gave the new Bullseye compressor wheel in the S475 a little on the job testing, lol. I looked at my tell tales after the last little go-round with the Porsche and some of the data is interesting. Speed stopped at 99mph. (we were in Rural Mexico). EGT 1701. RPM Max 3984. S475 made 25psig and total boost was 63psig. It was 85*F out. In prior testing I never saw over 60psig on the cast wheel. Doing the math, the wastegate on the IHI in the valley did open up a little as boost dropped to 14.2psig. On the cast wheel at my last similar run to 100mph I had total boost of 60psi and the IHI was doing 16psig and the s475 was doing 21psig. So now with the Bullseye, I'm not just 3psi more but doing it with a little less contribution from the IHI. Pressure Ratios are 2.7 for the S475 and 1.97 for the IHI, so I think that they are both well within their maps.

When I can get some time, I am going to add a drive pressure gauge and get more data :) I grabbed a sensor and a pre-tapped BD driver side manifold. I'll have to bend up a coil and get it all installed.
