I did some forum searching and the last that I saw was Ferman recommending this kit for my ‘02. My compressor is leaking oil badly.

Is this still the recommended longest lasting repair part? In a pinch I had Autozone send me a Four Season’s full kit and last night I found the compressor isn’t even a fit

I bought a flush kit and I read here to make my last step installing the new accumulator. Good info - thanks all!

That is just a box containing multiple parts. I've had the best luck myself with genuine GM parts for A/C compressors on these trucks. You will want to do the receiver/dryer and orifice tube as well (which is included in the kit you linked).

All I can state is you asked for an opinion and I gave mine. Everyone has their own preferred parts. Keep in mind genuine GM and ACDelco are not the same part.

My factory compressor lasted ~18yrs, hard to argue with that. On my other truck the compressor never failed and it was a 2005 with 370k miles.

Same here. I don't use mine much. Even when it's 110° out. I found out mine ran out of refrigerant when I had a passenger who asked for the AC. Didn't even know how long it wasn't working. Mine actually gets more use in the winter to defog the windshield more then summer. If the compressor fails it would probably take years for me to fix it. And only because others would be pestering me

I’m amazed that after I charged it up and resolved the high side port leak, that it’s still working. Lol. You can see she’s peeing her pants though. Not much time left now.

Isn't the high pressure blow off on the compressor down there on the underside? Might be overcharged or have air in the system. What does your high side look like?

I forget the exact numbers but I want to say 60psi low and like 250 on the high side. Before I vacuumed and charged I called a mechanic buddy and he quoted me pressures based on the current temp, so I know he was looking the truck up in some database to ensure that I wasn’t high or low.

Your pressures sound closer to a home AC running R-22 but not too far off if it was 85-90° out for R-134a

It was 95* F. After I charged it I got 39* at the vents on the way to get ice cream, lmao.

AC Delco can be good stuff, but many of there older compressors(like the H6 that haven't been used for almost 20 years), they are outsourcing, and buying from 4 seasons. In my experience, 4 seasons has been a 50/50 crap shoot. GPD is an overseas company, but they are mostly Taiwan & Korea, not the standard mass produced chinesium junk. I run them on all of my vehicles and it's all I installed when I was doing them. If you can get actual OEM parts, that's great, but you have to watch out since GM went overseas with so much stuff, they also started outsourcing.
