I have a 09 Chevy duramax lmm and smokes sometimes on acceleration. Smoke usually white and sometimes black. Truck is not tuned or deleted, completely stock. It has also seemed to be asking for regen more often. IPC states to regen and see owners manual. Performed regen with scan tool and exhaust smoke was white in the beginning of the regen. Coolant level is within range and has not moved in a year.
Base injector fuel rate fluctuates from 6-11mm3. Attached a picture of cylinder balance rates. I am leaning towards injectors but I am not 100% sure.

Can you get us both the balance rates with main rate in drive and foot on brake and another in park? Engine fully up to temperature

The ones mentioned were at operating temp and idling in park. I took them again and got the following. Also included is idling in drive with foot on brake. Base injector fuel rate in park is 5-11mm3. Base injector fuel rate in drive with foot on brake is 12-16mm3 mostly favoring 14-15mm3. Attached pictures are balanced rates.

Main rate bouncing between 5 and 11 mm3 could possibly indicate a bad fuel pressure regulator. 9 + or - 1 or 2 mm3 is typical and what one should see with a healthy fuel system. 5 mm3 would indicate that most or all the injectors are putting out too much fuel. I say most or all because the balance numbers are pretty close to each other. + Or - 4 mm3 is the limit for idle in park. Your numbers put it right at the limit.

In drive, a base rate of 12-16 mm3 is too high. Strangely in the opposite direction over your park numbers

Does your engine have a lope or rough idle? Can you see the desired and actual fuel pressure at idle?

Does not appear to idle rough or lope. When monitoring rpm’s on scan tool desired vs actual match and remain steady.

FRP regulator command is at 39%
Desired FRP regulator(mA) 1421
FRP regulator command (mA) 1426
This data was taken at operating temp, idling in park

If the fuel pressure is good and steady. Then it likely points to injectors.

You could because it free, clean all the injector connectors and maybe even apply some silicone or dielectric grease to them and see if it improves. Wouldn't hurt to see if you can source that GM injector cleaner. I think it's actually an AC Delco product. Someone here can probably find the part number. I believe it's discontinued but there is some still floating around on some websites
