It appears the output gear that drives the front axle busted in 2, which allowed the hy-vo? chain to take out the case.

So Pat do you think it failed because of the power being put through it or the high RPM's or a combination of the two? or none of the above?

Pat, are you ready to convert it to 2wd? What do you think? You have probably been asked before or have offered some info. If so, just point me to the thread. What is the weight of your truck again? Size of the front tires?

It was a combination of 600+ passes, lots of wheelhop over the years, and a very aggressive launch.

Instead of the gear losing teeth, it busted the gear in half. That is normally an impact injury instead of wear.
