Looks like it crashed.
You have to reregister they lost everything
I am terribly sorry for any trouble this may cause anyone, and you can believe that we are working as hard as we can to get the site back up and running.
Reality set in tonight, that we probably will not be able to restore the forum with nay of the information that was previously here. I will be honest with facts as we know them, and as we are provided more informations.
At 9:48pm CST someone was able to hack into our server from an IP that was out of Oklahoma City, OK. and removed the database that the forums ran from. Why they did it is beyond me. My first thought was for money, but so far nobody has come forward. I am willing to buy back the database if that is the case, no legal action will be taken, I just want the database back.
Our hosting company says they were unable to restore from the backup, I am not sure if the individual that took the file did this, but it's done. We will be backing up the new forum with RAID, every hour on the hour to a seperate server off site.
Please be patient in understanding we would never wish this on anybody.
Feel free to contact me with concerns.
Thank You.
does this site get backed up every so often so that this couldn't happen to us?
I have been backing it up every night onto my home computer for quite a while now. I also have a sata external hard drive that I'm setting up to backup my home computer to once a week and that drive will be locked in a media container that is rated at: 1/2-hour fire protection for CDs, DVDs, USB drives and memory sticks up to 1550°F. That will be locked inside my gun safe that has a 30 minute fire rating of its own.
If in the future I have to start doing multiple backups a day I will and then backup to the external drive more often. That will depend on traffic here but since it is picking up more and more I'll probably be doing it at least twice a day very soon.
