Climbed down started examining roof from inside
Thought the purlin? Got pulled up off the truss...
generally can see clearly as they're behind the light so hard to spot easily..
Time to go find a taller ladder and make repairs
Considering the rafter/truss ripped Upwards vs downwards..Might want to lay off on those hamburgers![]()

While that will work and looks great in the short run, long run not so much. I don't know what short is, or long is. The ridge beam is is splitting because the exterior walls are moving out, then ridge moves down. Collar ties are the only sure fix. I know that the destroys the cathedral ceiling look. We can only do what the customer will pay for.Brother had a repair job recently where the beam split similar to yours. Not quite as bad. I welded up a metal bracket for him and he put it on. Apparently worked great
Argument with the bank shortly after I got out of the Navy no clue were it's at but it's not in my possession for a long timeThe 01 truck that split the mains
