Today was a disaster, lol. I tried to swap in the rear seat and the frame is different. I should have done my homework instead of believing the “fits all crew cabs 99-07” ad. Has anyone torn down the lt3 rear seat and re-built it onto the lb7 frame?

Was it from a 2500 or a 1500 crew cab? Because I know for a fact the rears are different between a 2500 and a 1500.

There's a bit of new news to me. ^^^ Makes me wonder what about the cabs could possibly be different to make the CC rear seats not the same. That makes absolutely no sense to me.

Id imagine it'll be a bit of work, but the seats themselves should swap between frames, shouldnt they?

Man, those zip up replacement units don't look that nice...

Bout all we get for choices. Since the armrest is an injected foam, you cant just replace it.

I got hooked up with a upholstery guy thats going to see if he can do something with mine. He has some ideas

Well the 1500's came out of one factory, and the 2500's and 3500's came out of a different one. So it may fit all 1500's in that year range.

Don't forget the regular 1500 crew cab had a 5'8 bed so the frame had start the sweep up in the rear cab area. Where as if you look at a 2500 with a 6'6 bed it can start sweeping up later near the end of the cab.

The same applies to the floor on an extended cab truck with a 5'8 bed Vs. a regular 6'6 bed. But on the extended cab the seat mounts differently.

I have never had the 1500 and 2500 Crew Cab rear seats side by side so I can not tell you if the brackets will simply swap or if the upper parts are different from each other.

I have a set of 2500 CC seats, but I don't know any one who still has a 1500 CC

Funny how Ive been in this for 22 years, and there's still things I am learning.
Shit... It's only because of my love for these trucks that I even know some of these things. I couldn't tell you near as much on a GMT 400 or a 900, and the New trucks, forget it.... I know Squat about them...

I wonder if the armrest themselves are different between the 99-02 and 03-07 classic?
