I helped get a C10 LS3 / 10L80 swap driving and shifting good last week using 100% OEM hardware, and a $20 CANbus board. Adding a Camaro shifter, it has full manual / tap mode on a floor, with a bench seat.. With all the ZF 8spd and 10LR/L stuff becoming readily available in the used and aftermarkets dirt cheap, the retromod powertrain options are really opening up.
Problem with the 8 or 10 speed for my dad was using the 205 still. The 6 speed and adapter pretty much kept the 205 in the stock spot. Any longer and it becomes an issue using stock stuff. C10 is no biggy since 2wd. We looked at doing a 10 speed a while back (guy down the road from me had done two in a 4wd conversion 5 window with a 408 in it) but length was too long
I didn’t think the 8 or the 10 speeds could handle big power? It took me 4 years to find a builder that could build a 6l80 to take the torque of the 408.
Considering midnight performance can make the ford 10 speed last behind some monstrous supercharged fords, i believe they can. They also build them.
My dad bought the engine, trans, wiring harness and ecm/tcm through gm from the gm performance side. Family friend hooked him up through the dealership he runs. Im curious how well that 6 speed stands up

It’s going to need some love from Circle D. I have the entire catalogue in mine, it shifts and holds perfect now.
I think I was one of the few guys who would not give up on the 6L. I could write a novel on the highs and lows of that saga…

Mine would hold up fine for about a year then the clutches would give up, and I mean all of them, not just one pack. I daily drive this truck for work and I’m mobil and work out of the truck so it gets about 15k a year on it and I’m tough on it. I found a builder who stands behind his work and actually gives you a full 2 year warranty on a trans behind a 900+ blown LS. It has a firm 1/2 but other than that it shifts like stock, he keeps the oem shift strategy. The builder has the fastest street legal CTSV in the world I believe. He won Cadillac Attack last time out. Great guy, he lives about 15 minutes from me. He decided he wants to fish so I have his attention now.?

Trump Finally signed CRA 87 -88 -89 today. For those that don't know, That takes away California's ability to create their own separate emissions standards and rules that they have been forcing upon everyone else.
Yep, that is a good thing. Time to stop Cali from running the EPA.

Took a new job again about a month ago. I though I was over this job hopping, but I guess not. I made it 9 months there so not the worst. I got a little butt hurt over pay and they didn't want to pay more. I liked the work and my boss, but he was an Ass(ain't we all sometimes) and they had a lot of big corporation rules that got old. He began being huge ass when I put in my 2 weeks and complained I was srewing him over. Yet he never even gave me a counter offer. He thought I was going to work for one of my friends so he probably didn't see the point. I took the opportunity to get a bunch of my guys raised though because he was scared I was going to take everybody with me. The new company works me like a dog so far but I'll catch on to their way of doing things and it will get better. They are good people just have horrible organization compared to my OCD and the corporate environment.
I'm sitting at home with my son this week missing out on my daughters taekwondo nationals. He took a bad turn back in March with his Autism and PANDAS. He is better now but not enough we where willing to take him on the trip. My wife has been struggling with him 24/7 for the last few months and she is the one that puts in the work to get my daughter to training. I thought it would be good for her to go be there for my daughter and get a break.
I don't sit still to well which is why I'm up at 1am posting instead of sleeping. Being home with him for the week (only 2 days down LOL) has got my anxiety through the roof. He hasn't been to bad which sucks to say I just can't not have work to do. I already scrubbed 1/2 the house, did all my yard work, and some stuff in the garage having him by my side every second.

She fought 2 girls/ 5 fights and took gold in Point Sparring. Beating a girl that beat her at a Regional competition earlier this year for gold. Olympic sparring is her main thing and those fights are later this week.
