Thanks guys!

What a damn headache all this is though!!

Dozer, does he have to see specialists or something that keeps you in town? no need to reply back if you rather keep it personal. Wife trained and degreed in taking care of special needs children as well as teaching them.

He’s 7 and pretty severe on the autism spectrum. ABA therapy 40hrs a week, severe self-injurious behavior, non verbal, hoarding, OCD and was hit hard by PANDAS a year ago. We have specialist we see for psych, gastroenterologist, neurologist, and a homeo pathic doctor. My wife’s world pretty much revolves around him, and I do my best to help out.

It takes a very special person to do your wife’s job. My wife and I are very grateful for people like her.

WOW, that is a full plate for sure. It definitely takes special people to carry that type of caregiving load. Your son is very fortunate to have you two.

Thats pretty awesome! i had dreams of a 50x60x16 shop in the back, not too sure that size will happen but we will see. At min it will be 50x40x16. id like to have it built and have cash left over for a lift, tire machine/balancer, brake lathe, and maybe a mill w/ some tooling if i find a good deal. Ill know where we stand once the house is done and the old one is sold. Erin went from "budget minded" on interior stuff to "yup, thats over the standards offered, yup that too, yup same there" :ROFLMAO: . Thats ok, ill make it work if i can for her.

I thought my wife and I had an agreement, the house was her deal (as long as the attached garage was oversized), the shop was mine, but she seems to struggle staying in her own lane! LOL.

As I said, code says I can have 2400sq', so I like 40 x 60. 16' sidewalls for headroom bove the lift and a possible mezzanine area for additional storage.

I asked the township supervisor is I could get a variance to go 40 x 64, because most post frame plans set the posts 8' oc. His reply was "as long as the pans you submit to pull your building permit says 2400sq'? You're fine. No one will be pulling a tape on your building."

My wife says "cool, we're going 40x72 then!" I'm like WTH?

Pavers got done a few weeks ago. My wife was badass and set most of them since the pattern was pretty complicated and she picked it up the fastest. With 4 of us we got the pavers down in 1 day and then I spend the next day cutting and placing the edges and doing the star.

Sprinklers, grading, and sod the next weekend.

This last weekend I started on the electrical. Lights up, more outlets in the garage and a water spicket for my built-in pressure washer.

Next weekend I’m gonna add a few more outlets and run my 220 for the little shed I’m building on the patio for my compressor/generator.

That star is pretty cool. Sounds like something my wife would pick up quickly, too. She's creative like that....

What did you use on the recoat? Looks good.

100% silicone roof coating. About $250 a pail. Put enough mounts for 16x 100 watt panels for a total of 1600 watts of solar. Also installed 6x Trojan T105 batteries and a 2kw Renogy inverter/charger

Panels are supposed to show up Thursday and Victron 100 amp solar charger sometime later

Roni and I built a barn door out of three window panes we had. They came from removing two old windows on the front of the house. After over a month of designing, building and painting when we had the time, we were finally able to mount it.
All Roni has to do now is paint the track backer, while I have to design the lower door retainer. Then we're on to the next project.

Great work Tom! I love the stain glass. I’ve been thinking about doing some plain barn doors, but I’m not sure where I want them yet.

I've heard and read that when that roof gets wet, its as slippery as snot on a door knob. Any knowledge on that? Otherwise it looks really good.

It is not necessarily "slippery" per say but the lack of texture make it easy to hydroplane on the surface. If you are standing still the grip is pretty good. Start moving and step on a wet area wrong and you can slide. With the right mindset it is no problem, get lazy and off the side you go

Had a friend get his catalyst stolen, for the second time, recently from his prius. The first time he had a shop weld some "anti theft" rebar to it to prevent it. I have no idea what was done but there was no evidence of there being anything installed to prevent theft. My guess is that the criminals just cut the exhaust and took the whole section, rebar and all since there was nothing else keeping it secured to the vehicle.

This time around he asked me for advice. I told him to bring it over and we will come up with something. Here is what we cobbled together to protect his newly replaced exhaust. Hopefully it will either slow them down enough to get caught or deter them from even trying. 5/8" hardened steel U bolts and hardened 3/8" chain all welded to the cats and chain welded to the vehicle

I would hope that would deter somebody but you never know with meth heads. I wonder how much those chains jingle while he’s driving down the road... Maybe he should camouflage it like Santa...lol

If that does not stop them, you might try putting the anti theft bars across the top where they are harder to get at. Being on the bottom, they are quite easy to cut, up at the top, the floor pan and heat shields would pose the biggest problems deterring theft.

Also on those chains, let them drag and sling sparks.

I thought of that but there was a few areas in the tunnel that was a little bit tight so we decided to put them on the bottom. The Prius forums also had a few mention that the idiots didn't notice there bars or chain, etc and started cutting them out only to give up once they hit the anti theft stuff. This will hopefully keep them from even trying. I guess welding up a few cuts is a lot better than having to replace it again because it was too easy to get at
