Friend of mine (landlord too) has an 07.5 LMM with a stock turbo/injectors, truck has gone 12.92. He would like to upgrade his charger but isn't sure which to go with, with all the options what is his best upgrade? I think he would like to stay with a VVT so I guess, Cheetah or GT4094vvt? Which would be the better option? He mostly uses it as dd but likes to hammer on it once in a while too, has to be able to tow nice as well.

Thanks!

Thanks he was leaning toward that one but i wasn't sure if the Cheetah had anything over it?

if hes looking for all out performance i wouldnt buy either but if hes looking for more power that is a great option

If he wants to stay with VVT , the 4094 with the billet wheel is pretty good turbo for the $$ , I haven't used a billet wheel in one but most say it makes the spooling on it decent , i have never liked how the 4094 VVT drove , there are non VVT turbo's that spool faster and flow more but you argue with the price tag !

I really like my danville stage 2 charger. I daily drive, sled pull, drag race, and still tow my 33' fifth wheel camper. It does all of these things much better than the stocker.

The 4094vvt sure seems like a great charger too and the price is almost too good to pass up plus you don't need to send in yours or pay for a core.

For my next truck, I'd like to try a 366 or 472 as a daily driver. The vvt lag gets old sometimes. Sometimes I would like big block instant power instead of having to wait that split second for the vanes to open and the trans to respond.

on edit:
I just remembered why I didn't on this truck. The install kit makes any turbo besides a vvt just that much more expensive.

Yeah I'd try to talk him out of VVT. With that being said I guess they are direct drop ins which is kind of nice. I just wanted rid of veins

I saw that, but he is certain he wants to keep the VVT, so either a Cheetah or that GT4094vvt. I got feedback from quite a few guys on this I will let him know again that ditching the VVT is what everyone says :D maybe if he reads this he might have a change of heart?? But he can't have that 71mm BW, he can't be faster than me

Thanks guys!!

The case for the 4094:
- IMO the spool is awesome (with my mods it's as good as stock), drop-in replacement, bang for the buck, easy tuning, etc.
- Excellent stock fuel system turbo - able to provide more air than the stock system can support - makes 35 PSI without excessive drive pressure
- Great turbo to twin over later
The case against the 4094:
- It's a vvt - for those who don't like them
- Doesn't have the wide range of performance potential of a 366 for example
- EGT may be higher than a 366 (tuning dependent big time)
