What about electronic logs prevents you from hiding accidents? I work for companies that ran electronic logs 3 years ago and I'm pretty sure they were hiding accidents.

I brought it home @ 59.10. Busted my heinie during the week to get everything delivered Avg 160 stops/day. Luckily, this truck I been driving the past 4 years is excellent in snow, best Ive ever had. :thumb:

Steward on Saturday was trying to tell me we're on a "6 day punch" rule (of which Ive never heard of before -- ever).

So 60 with Saturday?

J.B. Hunt Accident History
In the 24-month period prior to December 3, 2017, J. B. Hunt drivers were reported to have been involved in 1252 crashes, 403 involving injuries, including 30 deaths. From 2012, the number of crashes has increased by 86%; the number of injuries has increased by 66.5%; the number of fatalities has increased by 150%.

Swift Transportation Accident History
In the 24-month period prior to December 3, 2017, Swift drivers were reported to have been involved in 2,256 crashes, 657 involving injuries, including 67 deaths. Since 2012, the number of crashes has increased by 50.4%; the number has increased by 51%; the number of fatalities has increased by 43%.

Werner Enterprises Truck Accident History
In the 24-month period prior to December 3, 2017, Werner drivers were reported to have been involved in 994 crashes, 286 involving injuries, including 30 deaths. Since 2012, the number of crashes has increased by 3.5%; the number of injuries has decreased by 7.4%; and the number of fatalities has increased by 16.6%.

UPS Truck Accident History
In the 24-month period prior to December 3, 2017, UPS drivers were reported to have been involved in 2,003 crashes, 689 involving injuries, including 49 deaths. Since 2012, the number of crashes has increased by 38%; the number of injures has increased by 27%; and the number of fatalities has increased by 25.6%.

US Xpress Truck Accident History
In the 24-month period prior to December 3, 2017, US Xpress drivers were reported to have been involved in 767 crashes, 254 involving injuries, including 19 deaths. Since 2012, the number of crashes has increased by 31.5%; the number of injuries has increased by 34.4%; and the number of fatalities has increased by 18.75%.

DHL Express Truck Accident History

In the 24-month period prior to December 3, 2017, DHL Express drivers were reported to have been involved in 16 crashes, involving 7 injuries and 1 fatality. From 2012, the number of crashes has increased by 100% and the number of injuries has increased by 75%.

Con-Way Accident History

In the 24-month period prior to December 3, 2017, Con-way Freight drivers were reported to have been involved in 593 crashes, 185 involving injuries, including 22 deaths. From 2012, the number of crashes has increased by 7%; the number of injuries has decreased by 6.5%; and the number of fatalities has increased by 46.6%.

Averitt Express Accident History
In the 24-month period prior to December 3, 2017, Averitt Express drivers were reported to have been involved in 425 crashes, 150 involving injuries, including 12 deaths. From 2012, the number of crashes has increased by 38%; the number of injuries has increased by 50%; and the number of fatalities has decreased by 83%.

Unfortunately 99% of anything the government does is about control of the populus


Just trying to make it easier for others to be informed as it will effect them eventually regardless if you're directly involved in the trucking industry or not

One thing that needs to be added to make these numbers mean anything is number of Rigs being run/miles driven. Another factor that isn't being taken into consideration is weather and wildlife. Add that all up and I bet it would make all those numbers look a little different. Granted that still doesn't account for bad or inexperienced drivers.

Nothing against being devil's advocate...
There's reason why all those companies are self Insured and it's not because it's cheaper..
If self insurance was banned they'd be out of business

Oh, I'll bet that made on heck of a bonfire once the pile caught. :hehe: Been there a couple times....30ft flames can be intimidating.


Well, Peak is all done for me. :) Yay! Had a good plan, luckily got a good loader (can make or break your day), drive an excellent truck, and as always I have great customers. Couldnt ask for much more.....


(well, I could....but that would be greedy and elves cant be greedy. The Big Guy doesnt like that)

20' 4ga is ok for single battery setups... Rather inadequate for vehicles two or more dead batteries...

Priced 40' 1/0 battery cable ~$230.00 not including clamps..
Napa premade 2ga 20' $215.00

That made the choice rather easy

Cooper is $$$$ the expensive stuff will have a higher strand count and run smaller wire... Cheap stuff will have low strand count and thicker wire..

More cooper the more it will flow.. obviously 1 piece of solid wire would be ideal... But it wouldn't be very flexible...
Majority of todays vehicle, ECM needs min 10V while cranking to operate.
Avg dead bat pulls 40-50A x2-4 on light to heavy duty Diesel.
Glow pulls 100-150A
ECM 30-50A
Cranking 300-600A
Lower the batter voltage, more Amps it takes..
Size times length equals restriction.
Start adding stuff up... Wire gets small in a hurry.. dmax has 2 4 guage wires run to the starter.. 2 4ga is equivalent to a single 1 guage
Trying to jump a dmax/cummin/power stroke with a 2-4guage cable takes a while

Probably get some 2/0 welding cable it's extremely common and most likely cheaper than what Napa is selling 1/0 battery cable

:roflmao:I’m an electrician that’s why I commented lol may wanna look into some amplifier cable. Usually can get some for a decent price even if it’s copper clad aluminum just up your size one AWG.
